If you could bring back one lifeline back to shuffle millionaire what would you choose? Would you choose phone a friend, 50-50, double dip, etc or one of your own creations.
I personally would choose to bring back double dip, I love the music used throughout the activation into the incorrect answer cues. I believe double dip was one of the most useful lifeline as if you could discount 2 incorrect answers then you were guaranteed to move on to the next question. If in this situation someone used 50-50 it might move the 2 answers the contestant initially discounted. I see no reason why double dip could not be brought back.
I believe that the producers would never bring back “phone a friend” due to ”the integrity of the lifeline being compromised” in the words of Meredith Veira. It seems just unfair that if someone has access to high speed internet they are guaranteed to get the right answer from their “friend”, no lifeline should be a 100% sure thing. This could be solved by using the methods of WWTBAM here in the UK by asking contestants to bring their phone a friends into the studio where it could be assured that they had no access to the world wide web.
I have put "phone a friend" in inverted commas as I can recall the scandal were contestants were hiring professional quizzers to be their phone a friend, for a fee based on the questions worth. However there is not a fool proof way of knowing if a person is a friend of the contestant.
I would also like to see “ask the expert” back on daytime millionaire. This lifeline was useful in my opinion especially in clocked millionaire as the contestant could use it to stop the clock to have more time to think about a question. I can see why this lifeline may have been discontinued by the producers as it must have been a struggle to organize getting a celebrity to agree to get to be an expert.
So to sum up I would like double dip to be re-introduced into daytime shuffle millionaire but that’s only my opinion what is yours. Which lifeline do you want to see back? What do you think the most useful lifeline that millionaire has ever had?
Thank you for reading
