Hey Everybody! I have been recently watching the US and the UK clock formats and have been thinking of a way to spice it up. One aspect that I really thought was clever was the banked time on the last question. So I began thinking "Hey! Why not make a format around this concept?" Rules- The usual Millionaire rules apply except for one new twist: Time is banked from question to question. Every question you answer correctly not only gets you money, but it also adds a bit of time on the clock for the next question. Cash Tree Starting time: 15 Seconds £500 (10)£1,000 (10)£2,000 (15)£5,000 (15)£10,000 (15)£20,000 (15)£50,000 (30)£75,000 (30)£150,000 (30)£250,000 (45)£500,000 (45)£1,000,000 *Numbers in brackets is time added on I think this would be an interesting new way to play as speed is more important. Also it fixes the problem of people not getting very far because of lack of time, and if they do have little time, they only have themselves to blame. Also I think that starting the people on 30 seconds (I mean come on! Who is going to take more than 5-10 second on the first two questions!) is a good starting point as it gives them enough time to think but not enough time to get comfortable. All feedback is appreciated

I think the adding time to the next questions time is a great idea.

That is an awesome idea. I mean just imagine how many people banked time and didn't get to the million dollar question to use it. It was a waste! Now to somehow get this to the creators...

How about a lifeline that would give the contestant a option of adding more time to there question, sort of like dividing time on 5 Minutes to a Fortune. Say on question 14 of the US clock version some one had 3 minutes banked the lifeline could add more time question 14 maybe an extra minute they would use that lifeline but the catch is unused time is not banked on the million dollar question. So only 2 minutes + 45seconds would be available for the last question.

That format... Would it be okay if I can implement this format into the community game?

I'm going to take that as a yes to my question. It will take me a while as I have to re-code the format. I may post some of my process along the way.

I really like this one. I liked the clock format, yes, but the banking of time was a waste because only a couple people actually got to use that time. At least this gives you the chance to use the time. There's another thing I like about this; with this one, you've got to pace yourself. One bad move, and you could end up with less than a minute for the million dollar question. It adds a bit of strategy to the game that wouldn't be there normally.

This is a great idea, I don't know why the people from the Millionaire production in the US nor 2way Traffic haven't implemented a gameplay like that so far! With this format, I would personally go back to the 15 question money tree so that the contestants can have 30 seconds more. As for the lifelines, I would create two new ones: Stop the clock which would stop the clock for one question but you would have to answer the question and you could not use another lifeline once this one is activated. I would make it appear after the £1,000 milestone. 30 seconds more which would add 30 seconds to the clock. It would appear at the £1,000 milestone but would be changed to 60 seconds when the player reaches the £50,000 if the 30 seconds haven't been used before. To sum it up, here is how I would see the lifelines in the game: Q1-5: 50:50 — Phone-A-Friend — Ask-The Audience Q6-10: 50:50 — Phone-A-Friend — Ask-The Audience — Stop-The-Clock — 30-Seconds-More Q11-15: 50:50 — Phone-A-Friend — Ask-The Audience — Stop-The-Clock — 60-Seconds-More Idolsfan

I think the Stop the Clock is a good idea and could save a lot of hassle but could only be used in the first 15 seconds of a question. And for the 30-60 second more lifelines, I think that could be problematic so maybe it only extends it for the current question. And instead of getting it, leaving it and extending it, I think the german Risk rule should apply. The contestant can choose weather to put it at 1,000 for 30 seconds or 50,000 for 60 seconds more. And the Double Dip can't hurt. -Kimarough

A 30 seconds or 60 seconds lifeline could be good if only used for one question And if the contestant must answer before lifeline's time runs out
