After the disaster that was the People Play specials a few weeks ago. One of the things that stuck me was that constants rarely used over 20 seconds to declare there final answer, whither that be choosing an answer or walking way. I have never liked how the clocked worked in the UK, I have always preferred the US clock rules. I think that in the UK instead of a time out being the same as a wrong answer, it should force the contestants to walk away with money they had already earned, like in the old US version. I’m sure more people would be willing to think about the question for longer knowing if they do run out of time they don’t lose any money and can walk away.I don’t know the reasoning behind the UK clock rules, I think its strange that you drop down to the last milestone if you time out. I’m confident that this small change in the rules would mean that more people would get to the big money.PYLguy

I agree about changing the clock do I think they would do it probably not because unlike the original US game there is 12 questions not 15 so it would be easier to win therefore more people would win big bucks and they might have to end the show due to losing budget money.

Yeah, that is probably the reason why the clock drops the contestant down. The real only difference between the UK classic and the new one is that 3 easy questions are removed. How many people can you recall in the UK that walked away will nothing, you could count that on one hand . I can just imagine the pressure knowing that if you don't watch the clock carefully enough you will lose some money. At least in the UK version after question 7 there is no clock. PYLguy
