This is not as impressive as being in the audience of Millionaire but I found it really interesting to see how a TV game show is produced. For those who don't know Perfection is a weekday game show on BBC 1, I have been off school on study leave of the past month and with my exams over I started to watch it.
The show is hosted by Nick Knowles who hosts a number of National Lottery game shows. Just last week I realised that 12 yard productions film Perfection in Glasgow (not too far from where I live) so I decided to book tickets to be in the audience with my dad. Last night we headed to BBC studios near the Pacific quay in Glasgow.
As entered the studio I was very surprised at how small the set actually was. There was only 20 seats for the audience as well, a lot less than it looks like on TV. After 10 minutes sitting Nick Knowles comes on to the set, Nick was very nice during breaks he would take questions from the small audience. He talked about his new film that he was directing and about his new wife.
The show on TV is only 40 minutes long but took over 2 hours to film. One thing that I thought was interesting was that they played the show music during the filming (I thought this was added in post production). I am look forward to going to see more game shows being filmed, later this month I am going to see Break the Safe (a new lottery game show) being filmed.
As for the outcome of the show, the jackpot of the show was at £9,000 and unfortunately no one won it. The show will air sometime in July.
Here as some pictures I managed to sneakily take will my phone of the studio. Sorry they are of bad quality but as with most productions photography is not allowed.
