...what, blame Prizes? For what, you might ask? Allow me to explain.
For dragging me here, of course.
Some of you probably already know me. After all, I've been around the gameshow community for some time now, and am pretty well known in it. For those who don't, I'm Prizes' partner in crime over at the Buy a Vowel Boards, fellow Golden-Road.net moderator, lifelong gameshow fan, sports fanatic, video game nut, and hardcore roadgeek. Or, rather, he's my partner in crime. Everyone there knows I actually do all the work. Regardless, he and I share similar views on what make forums work- an emphasis on quality posting, while keeping the atmosphere fun. The gameshow community has seen its ups and downs over the years, but I believe there is still plenty of room for growth.
...you know, it's really hard to follow up Prizes' introduction. Darn him, always being wordy and such.
As for my history with Millionaire? Watched it from the very first day it went on the air, way back in 1999. Damn I feel old. It was appointment watching back in the day, especially in that era when I knew about 75% of the material. My interest waned in the third syndicated season, when it became painfully obvious that it wasn't well-suited to be a syndicated daily program...and the current shuffle format turned me off altogether. Just doesn't feel like Millionaire. Regardless, I still enjoy watching classic episodes, playing along and still knowing a lot of the answers. Which makes me feel smart.
I've also hosted Millionaire in several formats, including several games in high school (mostly for test prep stuff), and in a live chatroom setting. Those who have played my chatroom shows know how notoriously difficult some of the questions are...or, rather, how the tenth question is the most difficult one in the stack. If given the opportunity (after reading the Rules, of course), I may host a game or two here. If I get time. And I stop being lazy to write questions. And I find some fake money to give away. Fake money doesn't grow on trees, you know.
...you know, I'm an awful hypocrite. I chastise Prizes for talking a lot, and what do I do? Come in and talk a lot. Guess I'll shut up now.
