It took me 2 weeks, but there's a scandal on the popular quiz show, Jeopardy. It was during a Kids Week episode. It turns out that an eighth grader gave a wrong answer due to a spelling error. The shows Facebook page has been loaded with angry posts about the show's decision. Will this be the next "Twenty-One"?

There is no scandal. The kid is a cry baby and his parents are enablers. The kid spelled the word wrong. The un-written rule is if it's spelled phonetically correct, the judges will accept, however he added another syllable to the word, so they can not accept it. If they accept the incorrectly spelled response (even in kids week) it jeopardizes the integrity of the show. The kid was not "cheated." He would have been in second place if he had bet it all and gave the correct response, anyway. He's going to be one of those self-righteous people in a very short amount of time. It's not the show's fault he can't spell the word emancipation. The people who back this kid are just as clueless and crazy.

Nice pun As for the so-called 'scandal' - I think it's quite a controversial one, but IMHO the judges were right this time. And no, it's definitely not the next Twenty-One, where every single second of the show was scripted and staged. Speaking of which, "21" has a really bad reputation worldwide. In Poland it was aired twice, just like in the USA, in late 60s and then in 2001. Both times, the producers delayed paying out the prizes, and some players never received their winnings at all! So no, it's not the next Twenty-One. It just seems harsh and unlucky, but truth being told, it must be this way.

Why did I over-exaggerate about this?

By any chance, did you happen to find this in a tabloid like Globe or some dumb television show, because just about 97% of what they say is either twisted to sound more interesting, or just complete lies.

Yeah, it's easy to forget that they've allowed misspellings, but when I saw his response, I immediately knew something was fishy. As soon as I saw that extra "T", I knew they had no choice but to count it wrong.
