Season 12 of Millionaire premiered yesterday with Cedric the Entertainer making his debut as the new host. Unfortunately, WWTBAM was not picked up by any of my local stations for the second year in a row, so I don't have much to offer quite yet as far as feedback for the new season. However, I know that most of you were able to watch the show and probably have lots to say about Cedric, the new studio, and the program in general as it transitions into a new era. Because there is certainly a lot to talk about, let's use this thread as a place for general comments and feedback for season 12.

While the studio location changed, the set itself did not. Maybe a few new light patterns, but nothing major.
Personally, I think I worried for nothing. To my own surprise, I'm really enjoying Cedric as the new host. Obviously there are some things he needs to improve on, but it's not as much of a train wreck as I thought it would be.

Seeing an episode form home now and being in the Studio, I am very Pro Cedric and thought he was awesome. He will need some seasoning and may not be everyone's Cup of tea but i liked him.

I hate it! Far too awkward for me. They tried to play the Steve Harvey card and failed. I wish there was a place I could download old seasons like on iTunes or something because I need to go back in time and remember the good old days.

We all said the same thing when Meredith first started back in 2002. If Cedric isn't tickling you, switch on the YouTube, or write a letter to the higher ups of ABC to consider releasing a DVD of The Best of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Cedric has been fine so far. It's as if everyone expects him to be funny just because he came from the same place as Harvey did. There are reasons out of his control why he can't be crazy funny like Harvey can on the Feud. 1. Millionaire contestants are WAY smarter than FF contestants and take the game a lot more seriously than FF contestants do. 2. FF is a free for all game show, meaning you can provide any answer you want to a given question. In Millionaire, you only get 4 options and usually none of them are funny ( yes, there are exceptions). 3. Family Feud is home to gems like these: Don't forget that Steve wasn't particularly the same hilarious genius on his guest host week of Millionaire that he is on the Feud. Give Cedric time, he'll grow into his role. |

I managed to watch a couple of episodes on YouTube, and I gotta say I'm positively surprised! Cedric isn't half as bad as I expected him to be. Of course he is no Meredith (or no Regis, as a matter of fact), but he's alright. After he polishes up some stuff, he'll be perfectly fine. And the key thing is, he's not making forceful, unfunny jokes, which was my main worry. The only thing that bothered me... is this... prntscr.com/1rvssfWhat the Buck is a Thousandaire? I have to say I loved being there with Cedric. He was very cool to me and I thought he did a great job. I will see how it translates 107am Thursday morning here in NY.

Argh, no spoiler tags here like BAV...Note that this is purely speculation, and based of literally likely a lone frame or three. Let's just say it's something about lifelines and such. Of course, there's this possibility, or the other one, in which case my stance is completely wrong, and it's a 180. I stick with the former, simply because it's a natural instinct to worry about what the tree showed us.

I can see what Prizes means and it has got me worried a bit as well. Looks like it isn't on the same tension level as the last million dollar question (and hopefully not the same result) but only time will tell if it is successful and we finally have a Millionaire for this decade.

I have to say, I'm really interested to see what the studio lighting will be like during the million dollar question. I hope it's not ultra bright like the lighting for the rest of the questions is.
