Somehow I got to listening to the original soundtrack to WWTBAM and it made me realize how much I miss the classic music here in the US. Which got me thinking: what's your favorite cue from the show, from any era of the show?
For me, there's nothing quite as exciting as that opening music, the very first cue anyone in the world heard on that fateful day in 1998:

The clock-era $500,000 question cue. That's probably the one thing the clock version actually did right. It's an extremely suspenseful cue, especially with the cue itself going into a higher key as the clock ticks on.

Personally my favorite cue is the $1,000,000 question wrong cue, as rarely as it is heard (once in us Millionaire history). It combines the euphoric sounds of what you could have one with the sounds of the loss of a big wad of cash heard in the previously won questions. It really makes you feel the loss of the money that the person has given up.

I still love the cue that plays immediately after the intro for the 10th Anniversary specials. Possibly my favorite of them all.

From the clock version, it's the Contestant Walkoff cue played for the million dollar winner. FinalAnswer19 has it in his package.

The version of the million dollar win cue they started using in the US after a while. There's just something about that reprise of the cue that makes it even more triumphant.

It was always the classic "Explain the Rules & Lifelines" theme. When that song started, my whole family would huddle around the TV with our set of crappy rabbit ears and just zone in the moment. Every time I hear that, it takes me back to 1999 and happier times.

I just love the US Clock Format's music. Some parts are suspenseful creating tension, whilst other parts are really 'happy' It also contains parts from the original soundboard.

For me, the original soundtrack - the £250,000 or the £500,000 win sounds.

Hands down, my favorite is the $500,000 win cue. It is such an adrenaline rush if you ask me.
As far as lifelines go, I really like the three wise men cue and also Double Dip.

I would have to agree, I love Double Dip as a lifeline and all the cues involved. You had the loud Start cue, the Main bed, Final Answers and the Wrong answer sound effect. Winning Millionaire must be a phenomenal experience, When the tense heartbeat changes into an outstanding win cue.

For me, my favourite cue(s) are the closing ones from 2007 UK's rave-remix (the closing bed and the credits cue). They make you feel the hype for the next episode to start, and also if you wanna dance a little bit...

Ha ha I agree Abstract! The rave credits are very similar to the original but they add some sort of 'Perzazz' if you like that bring the credits into the 21st Century.

For me it would be all the clock format hands down. It's the beating heart and suspense of the original score + the ticking clock... sets the atmosphere perfectly.

The clock format music is good, but there's only a few parts of it that I really like. I really do like the Million dollar question from the clocked format, it sounds a bit more intense compared to the original one. And I also like the lights down cue as well.
