Today, on 9th December 2013, the medical student Matthias Stockinger (aged 27) won the main prize of 1.000.000 € in the Austrian Version of WWTBAM called "Die Millionenshow".
Therefore, he is the 7th Millionaire in the history of this show. The last time before, the contestant Heide Gondek won the million in 2006.
When playing, he constantly ran the risk. At the beginning, he chose the risk format and went without the second safe heaven. After question 11, his four lifelines were used. Therefore, he answered the last four questions without any help, permanently risking to drop down to 500 €.
It is interesting that he wasn't that nervous. Actually, it was pretty funny because he had a lot of Brockhaus-knowledge (Brockhaus is the largest German printed encyclopedia. Furthermore, he was joking all the time about leaving the show with 500 €.
