from December 15th and for a couple weeks, the Italian WWTBAM will use a different format to see if the audience likes it more.
Canale5 made a test with these rules (they may change before the show airs)
There are six contestants playing the same game. Before the game begins, they are placed in a random order. Only the first in line will answer the questions, the others have to wait for their chance.
There are no lifelines, and the timer is used (15/30/45 seconds).
When a player fails to answer correctly, he is eliminated and the next player in line takes over and the game resumes with a new question for that level.
Instead of answering, each player has one chance to "pass" and go back to the end of the line. The next player in line has to pick up the game with that same question.
The last player surviving can play the rest of the game as usual.
