Hey everyone,
According to underbelly, there is going to be a new lifeline introduced this coming season. It's called "plus one." Basically, your companion will be able to come down and help you answer one question. This new lifeline will also replace one of the jump the questions. Thoughts?

Hmmm... Axing one of the two Jumps for a remix of the People Speak lifeline seems... fitting. Don't forget that US Millionaire is cutting the most budget possible, and, by reducing the chances to go up on the money tree, it seems that they don't want many people to win any of the Big Four (or, thinking way more drastically, to even reach Classic Millionaire).
I am starting to think that this season starts the demise of US WWTBAM as we know it... second change of host in two years, (even) more difficult (and obscure and ridiculously trivial) questions, and budget cuts to the extreme... Millionaire has to find a way to re-invent itself if it doesn't want to go downhill.

Feeling are mixed for me. I like that there is a new lifeline but I don't like that it's replacing a Jump. I would much rather see this lifeline in addition to the two jumps and Ask the Audience.

Feeling are mixed for me. I like that there is a new lifeline but I don't like that it's replacing a Jump. I would much rather see this lifeline in addition to the two jumps and Ask the Audience. I'd like to see it like an additional lifeline too. But it also feels like it would be better if it was only available in round 2, similar to Ask the Expert. That what the Plus One lifeline really is, a sort of mix between Phone a Friend and Ask the Expert. Although, I really hope that the lifeline isn't as useless as AtE was [on most occasions.] |

Plus One sounds like an unclocked Phone A Friend, which is good, although to replace a jump... I don't know if it would work as a "circumstancial" lifeline: by Round 2, if all 3 lifelines are intact, then Plus One does not come into play, but if you've used a lifeline, then Plus One is given.

I think it's a cool idea. I mean it was quite boring to have one ask the audience and then two jump the question lifelines. Even though jump the question is a good way to get to classic millionaire, it just didn't have much pizazz. But having your buddy or whatever come and help you with the question, it sounds little more exciting. I kind of miss ask the expert or phone a friend to be honest.

While I think a companion coming down from the audience to help the contestant is good and sounding very similar to how a Phone-a-friend works; my question is, will the companion stay for the rest of the question or will it be 'like' Phone-a-friend and they only have a certain amount of time to discuss the question with the player? I'm sorry, I haven't seen the People Speak lifeline in action from other versions of Millionaire.

This sounds like a good alternative to PAF, but maybe we should keep the 2 Jumps and make the contestants earn plus one with a question.
