Hi everyone, I was playing my Pokémon X recently, and I was in a building called Lysandre Café, and the background music sounds an awful lot like the million dollar question on the clocked version US. Now unfortunately I can't upload a snippet to show you, but I'm hoping that someone else on the forum has the game, and can: 1) Back me up on this 2) Upload a snippet for others to hear. I can't upload it due to technical issues, but there is definitely a strong likeness there! (underneath the annoying jingle) EDIT: Never mind, here is a link: m.youtube.com/watch?v=SFWB2Tlif8A millionaireloveruk.

Yeah, that little cue is used in the majority of the clocked soundtrack. It's in the Let's Play cues, the first five questions, and the last five questions. The MDQ cue is probably where you could hear the cue the most clearly.

Wow, that's definitely a track from the 2008 Millionaire soundtrack. Is Matthew Strachan given credit in the game?

I don't think that the track is a concrete piece of music 'per se'. I'm more inclined to think that it's a preset cue or something like that, because I've heard songs/TV music that have that specific 'ticking' as a background (and whenever I spotted one of those, it would remind me of the clocked OST).

IIRC, the particular 'ticking' background has been posted in the Fan Games section before.

The sound effect is a virtual instrument from the computer program Cubase. It is part of a library of sounds called Stylus RMX.

The sample is not directly tied to Cubase, just the library. I used Cubase to 'extract' the sound from the library. I believe the Strachan's used Wavelab for the shows cues, but they use Cubase for everything else.

Haha, I knew this topic would come up someday. Apparently it's called "Dark Skies" in the iTunes release of Pokemon X & Y.
I guess its hard to credit who exactly made that particular sound because it's possible that it's simply stock audio from a library. Looks like people above believe its from Cubase. While I never really heard of the program myself, when I first heard this song while playing the game, I immediately recognized the deep 'ticking' and my brother even pointed it out too. I wonder if anyone can post a sample of the raw audio cue.
