Tonight, RTL aired a very special episode of "Wer Wird Millionär?". They celebrated their 15th anniversary, and they played with modified rules:
- There still were 15 questions between the contestant and the million.
- The contestant had the choice to go for the classic variant (3 lifelines, €500 and €16,000 as milestones) or the risk variant (4 lifelines, €500 as the only milestone).
- When having answered the 10th question (€16,000) correctly, the contestant had the choice to continue the game in the normal way (so answering so many questions) as possible OR the contestant had the chance to play immediately for the million. When playing immediately for the million, the contestant was no longer allowed to walk away.
So we've seen a historical event on millionaire: the first contestant of tonight's show went with the classic variant and then decided after the €16,000 milestone to go for the million straightaway. He had previously used his three lifelines. He answered the question correctly and became Germany's ninth million euro winner. His question was:
"The distance between Berlin and the geocenter is about as big as the distance between Berlin and...?
- A: Tokyo
- B: Cape Town
- C: Moscow
- D: New York (correct answer)"
Two other contestants followed, both leaving with €500
Then Georges Devalois Yepnang Mouhoutou, from Cameroonian origin, came to the Hot Seat, chose the risk variant and faced as well the million euro question, also without any lifelines left. The question was:
"What was invented within five years in an ambit of 20 kilometers?
- A: Ottomotor and Dieselmotor
- B: Basketball and Volleyball (correct answer)
- C: Gyros Pita and Döner Kebab
- D: Toothbrush and Toothpaste"
Unfortunately, Georges had no idea on the question and since he had to play for it, he went for "A: Ottomotor and Dieselmotor", which was the wrong answer. The correct answer was "B: Basketball and Volleyball" and so he became the first person to answer the million euro question wrong in the history of German millionaire and walked away with €500.
Two other contestants followed again and they left also with €500.
I'm trying to look for some videos, in order that you can see this It was a great episode tonight!
