Kimarough I actually already knew about this. There were a few youtube videos I saw of this but now their gone, can't find them. By the way 50:50 was in tact for the first five questions then if the contestant didn't use it when I went to 2 answers in the high tier of questions then it would be void. If I remember correctly, two contestants won the top prize (both won 10,000,000, no one won 20,000,000) and everyone else went home with nothing.

Man, those rule changes REALLY make me want to see a video of the actual gameplay. Sounds intense!

(Dead thread bump)
I think these clips may be from week two of Japanese Super Millionaire, considering the gold lozenge and only showing two answer choices. Have a look for yourself:
Also, in the both videos, there's a small graphic below the ¥7,500,000/¥10,000,000 graphic that shows that there's only Phone a Friend and Ask the Audience available. And at the end of the first clip, it says that the contestant won nothing, meaning that there were no safe havens. What do you think?

Not convinced that this is a good format. Yes the money and therefore the stakes are much higher (as they ought to be) but I'm with those who cannot see the point in having questions for amounts which you cannot actually win. - Yes maybe have a version without the havens but no havens and a commitment that you must answer a question doesn't work.
Also, other than the prospect of losing a jump in the shuffle - is there a version which penalizes you for getting to a level? Wouldn't it have been better for the 50:50 to be replaced by something more useful once a contestant reached the sixth question

I do think we can agree the JP Super Millionaire format is not to everyone's taste, as is the Hot Seat format. But as long as Youtube is around, we can keep discovering and reliving the moments that make us love the Millionaire Franchise.
