0:27 isn't too encouraging. TBH, look at what Chip Esten did during his run. He had used all his lifelines except for Ask the Audience, and he had made it all the way to the million. Ken's expansive knowledge might make up for AtA, so who knows? He might actually make it! |

Since Meredith left, the show has lost 0.5 rating points, going from 2.3 to 1.8 now. When the syndicated show started, it would draw about a 3.0. Nowadays, it's not even among the 25 highest-rated syndicated TV programs. The more important thing that speaks against renewing Millionaire, I think, is how well Family Feud is doing. In the last couple of years, it went from being virtually a goner to coming close to Jeopardy, which is at 6.3. Celebrity Name Game has a 1.2 share, but it is much cheaper to produce (as is Family Feud, of course). All of these factors make renewing Millionaire relatively unattractive for ABC. If they get the impression that replacing it with one of their other shows will get them the same or similar ratings, at a fraction of the costs, we might as well start writing our eulogies. Thank you for the statistics Gagamillionaire, it is really interesting to read how it compares to previous years and other programs. Also Kimarough, I find it ironic that Michael Davies, former Executive Producer left his high paying job for millionaire... Guess what it was... Head of ABC's Reality TV Division, a costly mistake maybe however without him Millionaire may not be here today... Ken is clearly a smart guy and I would love to hear the new win cue finally broadcast.  |

Call me a pessimist, but I don't think he'll make it past 250k: The questions get so obscure at that point it becomes almost pure luck... plus I feel like the producers might have made the clip of a 250k question or 500k to make it more suspensful if he made it that high.

Given the show's history of spoiling stuff and telling us well in advance that a contestant at least sees the $1 million question, I'm inclined to believe that he won't be going that far since they are shrouding his progress. I think the farthest we've seen in a teaser clip for him was $100k if I remember correctly? I'd think that, especially with someone like Ken Jennings, they would be flooding us with teasers like "WATCH KEN GO FOR THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION" at least a week or two in advance if he made it that far.
Guess we will find out, but personally I'm not holding my breath. =/

Every time we have the top prize winner on a game show, they always spoil it in a time period of 1-2 weeks before the show. Like in "Who's Still Standing?", if the contestant arrives to the last opponent but no spoilers of his/her win, there is no top prize win. Or in the Spanish version of Hot Seat Millionaire, I remember the teaser announcing that somebody was going to win the 100.000€. But I remembered, that there was a "Who's Still Standing?" celebrity special in which there was no top prize win spoiler, but the non-celebrity contestant won the top prize. |

Mech, I completely agree. I believe that the show would keep some suspense insead of 'Letting the whole world know'... Personally I agree that they are only covering his progress as the clip was indeed for 100 Thousand dollars.
Millionaire does deserve another Millinaire, and I am eager to see a reaction from Terry Crews

Totally agree with Jaden -- will be so much fun to see Terry react! But if you look closely in the clip Ken is out of lifelines. Well, in a few more hours we'll know what happened. So excited to watch!
