In name that. Has not be mentioned was Katie Knudsen, the contestant in the US version who sat in the Hot Seat for 52 minutes. Sent from my LGMS500 using proboards Oh yes, how could I forget this woman. Couldn't stand her. I never knew about this woman, and dear god. Seems like such an annoying person.

Now to break this little tiff that is going on, here is a contestant I personally dislike: Lyn Payne www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIzjWsn62hwNow I have to give her credit, she is very intelligent and deserved to get to the Million Dollar question, BUT something erked me on her last question. The way that she makes herself sound intelligent and have an idea on what the answer was but not take it drove me the wrong way and made herself seem arrogant. Its not to say I didn't want her to win, I would of felt indifferent if she took the gamble and lost. Yeah, I have to agree, Lyn did seem kind of arrogant. Also, the little tiff you were referencing, my comments previously were by no means meant to be taken offensively or in an argumental way, I was just stating my opinion

This is a spirited debate, the whole point of a message board, and I sure hope it is taken that way by all parties involved.

I'm sorry that I'm bumping an old thread but I would like to add my thoughts on Kati Knudsen. I remember watching the video that only showed her $500,000 question, (The video was called "Screwed at $500,000") and while I do agree that she was arrogant and a sore loser after she got it wrong, I have to come to her defense for her last question.
At 3:15 on the video above, she said "I'm gonna go with Tonga", Regis should've said "Final answer?". Instead, Regis was at-wits-end and went into such a scare about how she could possibly lose $218,000. He basically talked her out of it. She even said prior to that, that she was sure Palau wouldn't be the correct answer.
Kati had a gut instinct because she's read about the list of countries that joined the U.N., it was only a matter of which specific country it was. Regis having her reconsider her decision over and over again is what threw her off as far as I can see. Think about it. If you considered one answer that turned out to be the correct answer and you were inadvertently talked out of it by the host, and lose $218,000, I'd be pretty mad as well. Sure, she looked like she was about to have breakdown over such a huge loss. She was very close.
And honorable mention to Regis scaring someone away was Norm Macdonald's run. All he had to say was "Final answer?" as well. Instead, making such a terrified expression is what made Norm walk away. I'd hate to talk bad about Regis but having it happen on two separate occasions gets to you.
Now to add on my least favorite contestants, how about Steve Perry? Before I say anything else, he had a great run. 14 questions, hanging on to the three lifelines, it's impressive. What I didn't like is how... cocky he was throughout his run. While John Carpenter was about the same, this guy just had that vibe that didn't really make me like him too much.

Those who love the clock format will quite possibly know who I am talking about instantly... It would have to be Ken Basin for me, I thought in my opinion he was a very cocky person especially the line "C, Final Answer give me a million dollars." His biggest mistake was being arrogant & saying "final answer" almost instantly. Once you say that, your out of there! Sometimes the host will try to hint that maybe you should pick something else. But it was too late. He still had 1 minute, 22 seconds of banked time to think about the answer carefully. This video is very hard to watch but his attitude kind of made me say suffer. He appears completely aware of the idea that risking 500,000 dollars on a 1/4 / 25% wild guess is stupid and ridiculous, and yet simultaneously completely unconscious of this fact. Sorry Ken. On the other hand as Regis rightly pointed out, he is only 24 and has years of life ahead of him. As a lawyer, he will earn a good amount of salary and clearly is an intelligent person. I wish him all the best for the future. Also the moral of the story is that you should only answer if you are certain and Ask the Audience are hardly ever trustworthy in the last tier. I mentioned hardly because I know you will be talking about Bernie Cullen and his airplane registration question. VIDEO: HIS MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBYRpnWJ6hQI agree with you. He shouldnt answer the ? but he could take a money, and Regis would say Okay whats your answer you cant lose anything. Ken: I will say A. Regis: If you say A you could be a new millionaire. This will be much easier if Ken took money

I would say that I didn't like Charles Ingram either. It's obvious that he cheated with those coughs.
There's someone else that I didn't like. He competed before the clock format and he didn't even answer. the first question correctly. That made me mad because he seemed like a smart guy. There was another person from the clock format who also left with nothing. That made me wonder if they're making the first five questions harder.
