Who remembers back in September 2001 when we all watched Charles Ingram win £1 Million , like everyone else in the country I was startled and not sure that this was real ! Mainly because on the £2,000 he had to ask the audience who was Audreys daughter ! It was only when the news showed us the horrible truth that our doubts were confirmed. Famously Chris Tarrant said that he did not know that Ingram was a cheater. For anybody who wants to watch Charles Ingram watch the video below. George  |

Half and half on this one, because how could Tecwen Whittock have known the answers to the questions he "coughed" on? Did Whittock talk to Ingram about cheating in-between taping? We'll know some day...

Yeah I can agree with you about Tecwen Wittock but as you suggest the agreement could have happend between tapings ! This is the only case of cheating on the whole of WWTBAM but it had to happen to the british version  |

Did this cheat start a decline of the show where it had to be near impossible to talk through the last 5 or 4 questions. Many people find this outrageous and I'm one of them. But in what universe would you get away with coughing a final answer?

True, It must of been a very slow decline for UK WWTBAM but it must have been hard to talk through the last 4 or 5 questions but watching the documentry the police said that prehaps Tecwen or Charles was wearing a 'answer device' where the answer could have triggered parts of the body, but we will never know the true story the the imfamous scam !! |

I think this removed Fastest Finger because the producers feared another plot with a Fastest Finger contestant. Why didn't they just say, let's just stay as we are and move on as we actually busted a cheat.

Also mean use the contestant and both plot to cheat in promise of a huge cheque from the cheat, and the ability to still play as technically, Whittock didn't play.

Legend goes that the scammers went to far and that Charles was ment to stop around £ 64,000 but prehaps Charles Ingram went further as, the major fraud documentry shows his brother in law and his wife get stuck at £32,000 so maybe he wanted to go further than them.
