When I was younger, I had a Who Wants to be a Millionaire video game for both my PlayStation and my PC. They were, coincidentally, the same game with the same questions. I used to play these games a ton when I got them, but I got bored after a while and didn't pick them up afterwards. I found my PlayStation version years later, and it still works! Did you guys ever play these games at all? And, with the new consoles and newer versions of the video games released, would you still play them now?

I had a few Millionaire video games. My mum and I were hyped when the first UK PS1 game came out. Perhaps the one game the two of us spent the most time on playing together. Even when I played alone I would run to the living room and ask my parents a question I got stuck on and the four possible answers. Its cheating I know I was at home playing video games I was allowed to cheat that way. Followed that up with the Second Edition on the PC this time. Blown away by the graphics and was actually nice to see there was a studio audience this time (invisible clapping audience on the first game). Also great for Chris Tarrant to actually read the question and four answers. Only one thing that bugged me was the lack of an actual Chris Tarrant. That's why I eventually invested in the PS2 version of WWTBAM 2nd Edition, which placed you in the point of view of the contestant hotseat and you're starring at a virtual CGI Chris Tarrant I thought the screenshots in gaming magazines looked fine and it hyped me up. Almost real I thought. Now I think "Oh dear", this doesn't look right after all. Still I thought it brought it to a closer look of the actual show than any video game edition of WWTBAM ever achieved. Only thing better was the DVD games?
Subsequent games I bought was WWTBAM: Party Edition for the Playstation Portable, which I bought during an anime convention when I got bored. It was one of only three physical PSP games I ever bought, alongside two Grand Theft Auto games, and although I didn't like the podium style presentation of the game it was still basically the same concept and I got a lot of fun out of that too.
Most recent is the vanilla edition of WWTBAM: Special Editions on PS3 which admittedly I haven't played as much off. Its just there when I can't think of anything else to play and I'll attempt it without cheating to test my brain. Its more cartoony than anything else, but again familier concept that classic fans can get down with.

I kinda wish we had the UK versions of the video games. Chris Tarrant's voice-overs in the video games are a bit more upbeat than Regis' voice-overs. That being said, the games definitely were family oriented in our household!

Never played an American Millionaire video game. I believe I saw the opening to the original PS1 WWTBAM game on YouTube years ago and it wasn't great.

I used to play the Indian video game, "Kaun Banega Crorepati", back in India when I was 6. Of course I had no idea what a majority of the questions meant, but the game itself was cool. There was no host, it was basically the host screen in the game. The funniest part, though, was that if you held down the "A" key on the keyboard, you would automatically win $1,000,000. Funniest glitch ever. I haven't played the game in a while, maybe I should check out some titles.
