Let's institute a forum-wide ignore of this guy and his 9,001 accounts. Don't acknowledge him, don't reply to him, don't like or dislike his posts, just completely and entirely ignore him.
Don't give him the attention he wants.

Maybe that might be the best thing to do, i'm already sick of constantly hitting that dislike button. I guess if we did continue to hit dislike buttons and replying, it would add fuel to his fire.

I've also put a feature in place that requires me to approve all newly registered accounts before posting is enabled. That should discourage him from coming back.

Which guy are we talking about? I believe his name is shah30072001 who is on his 6th or 7th account now I mean Seriously there's got to be some sort of way to ban a person from ever making an account again using Location or IP address or something Right? |

The issue is that he keeps changing his IP address. He won't be getting through anymore without my approval, though.

I think it's best we just ignore anyone who comes in and spam/bot posts like nickmillionaire has. Most likely he is done with his posting and hopefully has realized that we are not going to hand over material like he wants. The big j, Just wanted to point out that you went around the board and responded to a majority of nickmilionaire's posts. Not is this utterly pointless (as you noted he is a bot), but you're also unnecessarily making crude and, in this case, dark jokes. Your "rick rolling" of nickmillionaire in the shoutbox may have been amusing to you, but I'd be willing to bet that no one else really found it funny. You basically wasted your time trying to waste someone else's time. I know I'm a new member as well, but saying that "I can't take this anymore" at 30-odd posts doesn't make any sense. We haven't seen events like these as often as older members have. Mods and senior members: if the section above is not appropriate I'd be more than happy to remove it from this post. Overall, these kinds of incidents are nothing to make a large fuss about, let them happen, and they will go. We should definitely try implementing the New Member Intro feature as it would stop incidents like this. Maybe add a restriction in which you must post in the introduce yourself section before you are allowed to post elsewhere? Just a suggestion. |
