Just wondering, what kind of questions people think would have been used as the $10,000,000 question if it was ever seen. Would love to have seen it, as I can't imagine how hard or unheard of it would have been. Thoughts anyone?

My guess would be the same difficulty as the $1,000,000 question but only slightly more difficult. (I don't think many of the US Millionaire questions would count.)

Do you really think ABC would risk giving away $10,000,000 on a slightly harder $1,000,000 question? I'm guessing the question would have been something like, "In seconds, how much time passed between the firing of the first shot and the arrival of paramedics during the assassination of John F. Kennedy?" or probably even more ridiculous. The network definitely made sure nobody would get that far.

I've given one in Daily Millionaire, and written about ten others that I think qualify for this level. To me, it is VERY distinct from the $1M question. In fact, Super Millionaire's 12th question is equal to the level I'd write for that of the traditional show/BAM's 15th.
Nobody has reached such a level, but these are meant to be nearly impossible, you know it or you don't, often with a trick answer if you know anything at all about the subject. Furthermore, my difficulties when I write questions is meant to be indicative of how the actual writers would go on difficulty. I do not cut difficulty. The money might not be real, but everything else is. You want to beat my stack? Best of luck, and if you do, please go on a quizzer; you'd do quite well.

In interviews, Michael Davies responded to the effect of "How do you get more difficult than a million dollar question?" So speculation is that questions 12-15 would all be about Q15 difficulty. Perhaps a $10m question would be closer to today's MDQs in terms of difficulty. I wouldn't be surprised to hear the Nostradamus question was written as a $10M and got recycled.
