Yes it finally came 'down under' on Channel 7!
Here are the facts you need to know.
1. It goes for a full hour each episode. That is 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Second half of the show goes head to head with Hot Seat on Channel 9.
2. Our Aussie version retains the UK music (with a tweak in the cash builder music to make it sound a bit better)
3. It is hosted by Andrew O'Keefe. He was previously the guy hosting Deal Or No Deal in Australia.
4. Each correct answer in the cash builder round is worth $2,000.
5. We have three local chasers. They are Matt Parkinson , Brydon Coverdale and Issa Schultz.
Matt Parkinson is nicknamed 'Goliath'. He previously won Sale of the Century in the 1990s and appeared in other Aussie game shows. He also was a comedian back in the day.
Brydon Coverdale is nicknamed 'The Shark'. He was previously most famous by winning $300,000 on Million Dollar Minute.
Issa Schultz is nicknamed 'The Supernerd'. He has appeared on Australian game shows and he also has won the Australian quizzing Championship in 2011, 2013 and 2014.
6. We actually started with four chasers. The fourth one is a UK chaser.
It is Anne Hegerty.
I am assuming most people here know who she is.
7. (This information I only knew about a hour ago from writing this)
In 2016 we will have a 5th chaser.
HE is a UK chaser.
In 2016 Channel 7 will UNLEASH THE BEAST!
Type 'The Chase Australia's newest UK recruit Mark Labbett is already doing a number on rivals at Nine' onto Google for a link to Mark's promo.
Thanks for reading.
P.S. I would show you some links to episodes but they are unfortunately region blocked. You will need to use proxys to get around the region-blocking.
Go to Plus7 and search The Chase for episodes and other information about the show.
