I pose the following question: If your a fan of the show, how well on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being lowest, 10 being best), do you think you would fair if you were to play on the actual show? The reason I pose this question is because I just finished watching my latest DVR recording of Millionaire and the $50,000 question was as follows: The Collins Dictionary says that "rhythm", "spryly", "sylphy" and a word referring to what are the longest English words without an "A", "E", "I", "O" or "U"? - DNA being replicated
- Sun, Moon and Earth aligning
- Gasses becoming solids
- Neutrinos colliding with atoms
Of course I knew the answer right off the bat was "syzygy" from Bernie Cullen's $500,000 question. I have seen several instances of questions that were "re-formed" questions either from the same series or an international ones such as the UK series.
So being a fan of the show and watching clips online of the from the USA and other foreign versions, how well do you think you would fair?

I'd say the odds of you lucking out and getting a repeat question are pretty slim, but I imagine being a fan of the show would give you a good feel of the style of questions that are asked. You can also formulate a better lifeline strategy by seeing what works and what doesn't.

Well you wouldn't get a true repeat of a question I know, but with the one I posted above I new the answer was "B" because I knew the term "syzygy" from Cullen's run and that's how I was able to "map" it's answer. I was just wondering if you think you overall chances would be better in situations like this.

I know what you meant. I'm saying that happens very rarely, and not enough to give you an appreciable edge.

In some instances I have known answers to questions on the TV show because they featured on a WWTBAM app.
Doesn't happen all the time obviously but can happen every now and then.

I believe Chris Cho (first contestant this season) also mentioned exactly the above - on one of the low-tier questions, he was asked what portion of the Earth's surface consists of land, on both the show and in the app which he had played earlier.

I think it definitely gives you an edge during the auditions. I don't know if this is constant, but I noticed that all of the questions during my audition test were past Millionaire questions. Plus it also helps to know how to act during the audition interview with the producers if you pass the test.
