Good morning to all my new friends.
I'm not just a fan of WWTBAM, I'm also a huge fan of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. I watch those shows daily and enjoy watching them with my mom and dad. Back in 2008 going into 2009 when Game Show Network used to air reruns of past Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune episodes, I watched some of those and it was cool and lots of fun.
Nowadays, GSN no longer airs any episode of Jeopardy! or Wheel of Fortune, that's why I certainly miss those reruns on the channel. *Does anyone of you miss watching Jeopardy! or Wheel of Fortune, or both on GSN as well?* I would certainly appreciate your absolute honesty on this one. Also, I remember GSN reran a whole bunch of Jeopardy! episodes where $2.5 million winner, Ken Jennings, made his appearances on the show and kept on winning, until his 75th appearance of course.
It reminded me of my original experience with Jeopardy! back in 2004 when I was a kid because I also watched those episode on their original air dates. In the state of New Jersey which is where I live, I get Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune on WABC 7 New York (channel 7) during the 7 PM hour.
Meanwhile, if anyone says yes to my original question, then please explain why in detail. If not, explain your reason in detail, and please tell me honestly what are your thoughts on this subject.
The original question is bolded and underlined so that you can see that I'm being very clear, and I've put an asterisk on each side of the question.
Sincerely Amin Inshassi

I miss the old GSN period. It's just become garbage. I would much rather see shows from the 70's and 80's than the stuff they air now. If they're not airing Family Feud, it's a GSN original - most of which are deplorable. Idiot Test could be a great show if it weren't for that host, he is so painful. I would rather see the "old stuff" mixed in with some older versions of shows that are still on. I know it'll never happen, but I would LOVE to see TPIR on there combined with Jeopardy and WOF from the beginning. I would give anything to get Millionaire back on a regular basis, too...

GSN is such a far cry from what it used to be. I haven't watched anything on GSN in years. There's very little variety in the programming, and the programs that they do air just aren't that engaging.
And I know that I'm biased, but I'd love to see some form of WWTBAM on the network again!

There's very little variety in the programming LOL might you be talking about the EIGHT HOURS of Family Feud they air every weekday?

I'd keep GSN doing what it's doing. Pretty cheap, and it reels in the ratings. The majority of the network's viewers like Harvey, and it's cheap. Great win-win for GSN and its viewers. These days, it's more likely to get viewers than some older shows-dream lineups, no budgets, etc. aside, they are doing the right thing. Furthermore, the original content is mostly showing okay, by the ratings numbers. Original programming is also smart because it means no rights or estate costs, as it's their own property. This works long term, potentially, because as rights holders, these can be sold off for heavy profits, to a different corporation; think Super Millionaire and Fox.
This doesn't mean I have to like what the majority of programs are these days, I don't, as I feel much of Harvey's Feud forces humor, but the function of a business (or, in this case, a subsidiary; of Sony) is to maximize profits for its shareholders. With cheap, well viewed shows, their business model is very effective, and for that, I give them full marks.
Last but not least, you all are specialized fans with nostalgia. Unfortunately for you, this is not the majority view, as your eyes, as are mine, are biased. Virtually all of the suggestions I see here would most likely provide lesser views at a greater cost. Not a good business strategy.

Prizes is 100% right, of course. From a business standpoint, they've found a winning model. As a completely biased (and largely irrelevant) consumer, though, I'd really like to see something other than Family Feud once in a while.

There's very little variety in the programming LOL might you be talking about the EIGHT HOURS of Family Feud they air every weekday? I agree with you. Family Feud is yet another of my favorite shows, especially Steve Harvey's episodes. All his jokes make me laugh, Steve certainly is a very funny host, and has lots of sense of humor. Family Feud definitely keeps me entertained every time I watch the show on GSN. Yes, I still watch GSN to this day, and I even have it in HDTV. At the same time however, I get bored after watching at least four episodes in a row. Therefore in my opinion, I think GSN really should remove at least two hours of Family Feud or more, and add more content to their programming to get a better variety of programs to watch, and to entertain ourselves with. Even though ratings for Harvey's Family Feud seem to be increasing gradually during recent time, I feel that there's just too much Family Feud on the schedule. However, I don't want Family Feud to be completely removed from the programming, I just think that 2-3 hours or Family Feud is more than enough on a daily basis. What do you guys think?

I like the modern versions of the Family Feud. I'm not like say a friend of mine who will completely bash and discredit any of the classic games by today's hosts (Carey on TPIR, Harvey on Feud, GSN's attempt at Pyramid (those hard rules though)). But I do agree and concur that GSN is more niche than anything. I'm kind of upset though that GSN had at some point a large library that has been reduced to nothing but five programs. FremantleMedia cleared the board when they separated to make Buzzr TV and even then Buzzr does everyone a disservice as they repeat the same programming about three times a day. (This includes their classic black and white... that gets repeated twice a day.) That being said, I would love if both networks can give more variety to their programming and would love it even more if we got the short run series that didn't quite make it. Hell, maybe GSN can get some of the UK Chase episodes to air here. Just please something beside the mini-marathon of Feud for six hours and so forth...

I remember when I first got GSN in my home in the summer of 2008, man that was a GOOD time to be watching that channel. Nothing but classics from the morning to early afternoon, and then the GSN originals + more modern shows coming on after that. Very few reruns, and A LOT of diversity. It was truly awesome. I used to tape WOF pretty much every day up until 2009. Now fast forward to today, and I barely watch GSN any more. It's pretty much the Steve Harvey channel now if you ask me. LUCKILY, I now get Buzzr, which I watch quite frequently.

Count me as biased as well. That's pretty much how I feel about the current GSN as well -- all I see every day is pretty much Family Feud. When I was younger, I used to see the Millionaire primetime show on the cable box guide. However, at the time, I was too young to stay up past midnight and watch a previous taping.
I would agree with a bit more diversity. Kind of why I stopped watching television mostly--sometimes, it's all the same thing that's on each day. And the fact that I never get to see Millionaire, even syndicated due to school in the past several years, just makes me want to see even some of the older episodes.
Good news is that ABC picked up the $100,000 Pyramid and Match Game again. Hoping to see them do the same with Millionaire (is this why they're moving to Vegas all of a sudden?).
