(Wow no post here in a month )
Hey everyone!
I was in the middle of planning some convention games for a friend of mine (currently we do Debt, Press Your Luck, Trump Card, and Card Sharks) and I wanted to ask a question.
Do any of you (or have any of you, if you attend and not necessarily participate) have would be participants "audition" for the show? I've seen a few conventions arrange for auditions for the game show panel that weekend but I haven't been able to attend one myself, so I have no idea what the process is like.
The only audition that I participated in was the actual audition for the US Millionaire show. For those that don't know or read my journal about the experience, the process was kind of simple:
- Sit down in a room adjoining the main studio. (Or if this was the first season of Meredith's run, in a deli across the street from the studio. Or if it's Cedric's run at the 106th Street studio, in the actual studio itself.)
- Proctor comes through to explain the rules. (No cheating, all devices away.)
- They will hand you a scantron sheet. (Yes that is a photo of a pack of forms that I bought along with the machine that grades them... YAY! E-Bay!)
- The test itself is a 10 minute, 30 question multiple choice quiz. With the questions being worded similar to or pulled from prior Millionaire shows. (You will notice some questions came from the show.)
- During the show taping, the audience members who hit that "magical score" of passing will be informed of passing.
- After the main show is concluded, all remaining members of the audience who passed are given the interview and (I believe) a sample question that is placed on the big board for them to play.
The above has been the process since the show was taped for syndication. (The prime time show used a different process according to the "Official Rules" that I dug up over the internet involving a telephone call and other stuff. I'll make a post "explaining" the terms and so forth. Right now I found one set of rules for Regular Millionaire prime-time, First season syndicated, Clock Syndicated, Shuffle Syndicated, and Current Syndicated.)
Thanks for any assistance.
