Hi there. For anyone who hasn't read my introduction thread, my name is Paul Williams and I'm a Millionaire Fan out of New York City. I've been a fan of Millionaire since its beginning and enjoyed the program through its various formats. (Clock, Shuffle, Classic) So far I've attended one taping during each of the syndicated iterations except for Terry and Regis. (Regis was when I was in high school and wouldn't be allowed in the studio and I completely missed the last date of Terry's show.)
I've been at work on a controller program and have posted up my progress in the Creativity forum. It was actually thanks to that, a few people have posted that maybe I should go ahead and apply to the forum, so here I am. So far I've nearly completed the logic for the main portion of the program and you can read the entire progress of my program here on the Creativity forum. (So far the logic board is about 70% complete. I've just got to work out a few of the lifelines and game control buttons.) The next step would be sounds and graphics with graphics being my linchpin and bane since I suck at drawing. >.> And computer drawing is worse :/.
I know that access to the Fan Games is a bit on the private side for various reasons, least of which is the official "help" and support being made available as well as the rampant abuse in prior iterations of that forum. I can say that if I'm granted access to that section, rest assured that I will not openly distribute any of its contents to anyone. The absolute worst that may happen is me going "Hey so that's how that worked?" and then me try to add that in to my project. (Or at least a display it somewhere on Twitch or a panel if I'm ever selected to host/organize it.) Anything that I use, I accredit the person(s) responsible for its bringing. While it was my original intent to allow the controller and graphics be used outside of Fan Games for all (I don't mind if others use, just hope they don't ABUSE it), if need be I'll also distribute the the source code of the program as well as the actual compiled program into Fan Games for safe keeping. (Fair warning: I code in Visual Basic ... >.>)
While the above is being made as if I was a game developer for Fan Games, if its decided that a "few screenshots" of a non-working program is not enough, I also submit my post record here on the forums. Outside of the daily millionaire posting or RPGs, I've been active in other parts of the forum where I can chime in something reasonably. Particularly in posting up progress about the Controller, discussion about the Millionaire game, a post about my viewing of the taping of Millionaire US (which seems on schedule to be aired during Spring 2016), as well as various postings (such as research into other host screens, since I was amazed by the design of them as part of the production). Also, since I don't think making a thread each time I have a question to ask about the rules of Millionaire, I've been active in the Shoutbox as well. (Not sure if that counts...)
I hope that I'll be added in to Fan Games and in either case I'll still be posting up updates to my controller progress to Creativity when I have significant updates to include. (Such as the one that I'll post up soon. Since I realized a silly error involving Shuffle Format (this is really hard to make >.>).)
