Per Variety, "Millionaire" has been renewed by ABC stations for the 2016-2017 season. |

This must mean that we will get a US host that lasts more than one season again.
In my opinion, some stability is finally returning to US WWTBAM.

This must mean that we will get a US host that lasts more than one season again. In my opinion, some stability is finally returning to US WWTBAM. Idon't know why, but I didn't really see Chris Harrison only staying in for one season. I mean he's a mainstay on the Bachelor, the schedule for taping of Millionaire doesn't really seem to conflict with that even if ABC starts a new season of that. I'm sure he and his family are on stable grounds. He really seems to be enjoying himself as a host. I'm willing to be that US Millionaire makes it to 20 years. |

Thank god I'm not a betting man, cause I would've bet a lot of money it'd be canceled. I'm glad the Millionaire crew has a chance to work on some of the aspects of the current game (the pacing comes to mind). Still, the problematic situation persists (in terms of money), so time won't fix everything. For now, though: yay!

I wonder if "Millionaire" will air in more markets next year since some of the daytime talk shows are ending this year. Maybe with some more national coverage and better time slots the show will fare better.
This season saw some major improvements. I hope the production crew seizes this opportunity and makes the show even better next year. Maybe there will even be room in the budget for an improved music score.

I'm willing to bet that the station was reusing an older promo. When I went to the taping, they were still using the Shuffle cues, question beds, and others. I don't think the episode I attended aired yet. |

That's a locally-produced ad. I'm wagering they just used the wrong music. My local affiliate made a similar goof a few years ago.
Remember when they were still using the Strachan score in the official commercial bumpers when the Shuffle episodes first began? I'm betting the Strachans were never paid those royalties.

Then, three years later, it would have re-debuted, but with everything reverted to the classic format (all of the format changes the U.S. made would have been undone). So here's my question to you: if literally all the U.S.-originated format changes (DADT intellectual property) had to go, then what would happen to the show? What would it have looked like, in your opinion?

I truly think the show would've looked, sounded, and played the exact same way that it did throughout the entire run. If anything, we may have had the Rave music format here instead. Hell, I think if it weren't for the lawsuit, Super Millionaire would've become an annual series. |

I'm glad it is getting renewed for another season. The same cannot be said for the Facebook / iPhone game. It's being given the ax at the end of this month.  |
