Good evening peasants dearest users!
About half a year ago I was working on this thing in an attempt to do it over Skype. Unfortunately, that failed, as there weren't enough people who could be on Skype simultaneously. So I took some time and reworked the idea into a video RPG - similar to what was the 5th anniversary RPG.
Rules
Anybody who wants to play must have a microphone. Cam is NOT required. The game does require a voice input from all the contestants at various points in the game.
The question will be asked as a video - The Mob will have 24 hours to lock in their answers via PM. The One will have 24 hours to send a voice recording with either the answer they choose or the help that they want to use. This will be then put together as a video at the end of 24 hours, The One will get a choice of Money/Mob - again with a 24 hour deadline - and then the next question will be asked. Continue until The One knocks out all 100 members of the Mob, gets a question wrong and loses, or decides to take the money and run.
The payout structure, given in arbitrary units of money, is as follows:
"Tournament" gameplay rules
Each contestant will take it in turns to play as The One. Other contestants will be in The Mob. Mob knockouts are calculated based on the percentage of incorrect answers from The Mob. The algorithm is quite complex - 10% of incorrect answers does not translate into 10% mob knockouts. This means that even the answers from contestants who have been knocked out count towards the calculation. For more info, visit the other thread.
In the case of an incorrect answer from The One, banked winnings are divided by the total number of people in The Mob (both real and virtual), and awarded to The Mob as follows:
Mob members with 0 incorrect answers will receive 100% of the share
Mob members with 1 incorrect answer will receive 50% of the share
Mob members with 2 incorrect answers will receive 25% of the share
Mob members with 3 or more incorrect answers will receive nothing.
For example, if the total banked so far is $50,000 and there are 25 members in the mob left, then:
Contestant A, who has answered all questions correctly, will receive $2,000
Contestant B, who has answered one question incorrectly, will receive $1,000
Contestant C, who has answered two questions incorrectly, will receive $500
Contestants D, E and F, who have answered three or more questions incorrectly, will receive nothing.
Note that only Contestant A is formally still in The Mob. The other 5 contestants have answered at least one question wrong and have been eliminated.
Sign-ups
Sign-ups open now, just respond to this thread. There is no limit to the number of contestants (I have 3000 questions at hand). The game will (hopefully) start on March 1st. Please make sure you will be able to record your voice and send the files to me if you want to play.
Yay!
