This thread won't just be the total winnings, it will include commertary from me and the Who is the chaser quotes from the host.
Let's begin with last week's bunch of episodes
Monday 22nd February
The team of 4 for this episode are Cindy, Daniela, Michael and Christian
Cindy is first for her cash builder. She gets $12,000 (keep in mind it is $2,000 per correct answer in the cash builder)
Who is the chaser in this episode
Could it be "The Governess" Anne Hegarty. A Brit who has been transported to the colonies for stealing. Stealing people's will to live. Generally.
Or perhaps "The Supernerd" Issa Schultz. So chock full of knowledge perhaps he does use the suppository of all wisdom.
Maybe it is Brydon Coverdale "The Shark". Nerves of steel, heart of steel, backbone of.... well cartilage I guess.
Maybe "The Beast" Mark Labbett. Favourite place in Australia he tells me is the Hume Highway. He uses it for a slip and slide.
Or could it be "Goliath" Matt Parkinson. A death stare so effective, it is only legal in times of war.
The Chaser for this episode is... "The Beast"!
The Beast offers Cindy $2,000 to go a step closer to the desk but $33,000 to go a step closer to him.
She sticks with $12,000.
She gets to the well known one question shootout.
She gets that question right and gets back to the desk with her $12,000. If The Beast did not guess an answer incorrectly, he would have been able to catch Cindy.
Daniela gets $10,000 in her cash builder.
The Beast offers her $1,000 to go low and $28,000 to go high.
She sticks with $10,000.
Daniela gets back to the desk with her $10,000 If she chose the higher offer, it would have been possible for her to bring $28,000 to the total prize fund.
Michael gets $16,000 in his cash builder.
The Beast offers him $2,000 to go low and $48,000 to go high.
He sticks with $16,000.
Michael gets back to the desk with his $16,000. As he got no answers incorrect in his individual chase, he could have easily went high.
Christian gets $8,000 in his cash builder.
The Beast is tempted to give a minus offer to go low but ultimately decides on $2,000. High offer is $25,000.
He decides to take the low offer of $2,000.
He gets back to the desk with his $2,000. Could not have went high but if he was a bit more confident he might have been able to bring $8,000 to the total prize fund.
Total prize fund after all individual chases for this episode is $40,000. Divided by 4 and that would mean $10,000 each if the team win.
In the final chase the team chose Set B, therefore The Beast gets Set A.
The team started with a 4 step head start and after 2 minutes they are 25 steps ahead of The Beast.
The Beast ran out of time on 22 steps so the team leave with $40,000. The Beast got 7 of his final chase questions wrong and the team correctly answered 3 of them. That meant 3 pushbacks.
Tuesday 23rd February
The team of 4 for this episode are Sarah, Sophie, Luke and Michael (all 4 are students and Luke and Michael are twin brothers)
Sarah is first to play her cash builder and gets $4,000.
Who is the chaser for this episode
Could it be "The Shark" Brydon Coverdale. Like an eskimo in a supermarket, he's one cool customer.
Maybe "The Governess" Anne Hegarty. Now when hell freezes over, it will be because she sneezed.
Maybe Mark Labbett "The Beast". Will he let you in? Not by the hair on his 24 chins.
Maybe it will be "The Supernerd" Issa Schultz. He's got three degrees in trivia and a PHD in crushing souls.
Or will it be "Goliath" Matt Parkinson. An expert in science and comedy. He knows everything from Schrodinger's Cat to Mrs Slocombe's girl thingy.
The chaser is.... Goliath!
Sarah gets offered by Goliath $2,000 to go low and $25,000 to go high.
She sticks with $4,000.
Gets caught with 3 steps to the bank left.
Sophie gets $4,000 in her cash builder
Goliath offers $2,000 to go low and $30,000 to go high.
She sticks with $4,000
Gets back to the desk with her $4,000. If Goliath did not get so many questions wrong (at least 3) he could have caught Sophie.
Luke gets $10,000 in his cash builder
Goliath offers $5,000 to go low and $40,000 to go high.
He decides to take the low offer of $5,000.
Gets back the desk with his $5,000 quite easily. Did not get a single question in his individual chase. Could have easily brought home $40,000.
Michael gets $10,000 in his cash builder
Goliath offers $5,000 to go low and $40,000 to go high.
He decides to take the same low offer as his twin brother.
He somehow gets back to the desk with his $5,000. Michael made the right decision to go low. He would have been caught if he chose either the middle or high offer.
Total prize fund for this episode is $14,000.
The team chose Set A and therefore Goliath gets Set B.
The team started with a 3 step head start and ended up with 16 steps.
Goliath catches the team with 15 seconds left on the clock.
The team of course leave with nothing.
Wednesday 24th February
The team for this episode are Hadleigh, Jacky, Craig and Lynda
Hadleigh is first to play and gets $20,000 in his cash builder
Who is the chaser for this episode?
Will it be "The Governess" Anne Hegarty. She is the headmistress of the school of very hard knocks. And she looks like it too doesn't she?
Or will it be "The Beast" Mark Labbett. Larger then life, unless life is over 6 foot 7 that is.
Or perhaps "Goliath" Matt Parkinson. Like a long clin on poem written in smudged ink, he is always very hard to read.
Possibly "The Supernerd" Issa Schultz. Like a many Star Wars fan, he's crossed over to the dork side.
Or maybe it will be "The Shark" Brydon Coverdale. You can tell he's not two faced, he wouldn't choose to wear that one in public
The chaser is.... The Governess!
The Governess offers Hadleigh $5,000 for the low offer and $45,000 for the high offer.
In a disappointing move in my opinion Hadleigh goes for the low offer of $5,000.
He gets back to the desk with his $5,000. If he was a little bit braver, he could have brought the middle offer or even the higher offer.
Jacky gets $10,000 in her cash builder.
The Governess offers $1,000 for the low offer and $30,000 for the high offer
Jacky sticks with $10,000.
Jacky gets to the famous one-question shootout. She got the question wrong and The Governess got it right, therefore Jacky got caught but only just.
Craig gets only $2,000 in his cash builder
The Governess offers $500 for the low offer and $20,000 for the high offer.
Craig sticks with $2,000.
Craig does not even get a single individual chase question right. The Governess knocks him out in just 3 questions.
Lynda gets $12,000 in her cash builder
The Governess offers $4,000 for the low offer and $35,000 for the high offer.
Lynda goes for the low offer of $4,000.
Lynda makes it back to the desk with her $4,000. Like Hadleigh, she could have went the middle offer or even the high offer.
Total prize fund for this episode is only $9,000 (It is rare for a total at the end of the 4th contestant's individual chase to be under $10,000)
The team chose Set B therefore The Governess gets Set A
The team started with a 2 step head start and ended up with 24 steps.
The Governess ran out of time with 19 steps on the board. She got 6 questions wrong in her part of the final chase. The team managed to push her back 2 times.
The team leave with $9,000. That's $4,500 each. Could have been so much more.
Thursday 25th February
The team of four for this episode are Katie, Marcus, Tracee and Tom.
Katie is first to play. She gets $14,000 in her cash builder.
Who is the chaser for this episode?
Could it be "The Governess" Anne Hegarty. Like a female Henry VIII, in fact she is just like a female Henry VIII.
Or is it "The Beast" Mark Labbett. Facing him is like eating English food, it will leave you with a very bad taste in your mouth.
Or maybe it is "Goliath" Matt Parkinson. The only thing bigger then his IQ is his hat size (hey, hey, hey)
Or is it "The Supernerd" Issa Schultz. The brain of a supercomputer and the body of its extension cord.
Or possibly "The Shark" Brydon Coverdale. People say he acts like he's better then you. They are wrong, he's not acting.
The chaser is... The Supernerd!
The Supernerd offers Katie $4,000 to go low and $38,000 to go high.
Katie sticks with $14,000
She gets caught with 4 steps remaining. I would say Katie got unlucky with her individual chase questions.
Marcus gets $12,000 in his cash builder.
The Supernerd offers Marcus $3,000 to go low and $38,000 to go high.
Marcus decides to go for the high offer of $40,000.
He gets caught with 4 steps remaining. Although he failed to get back to the desk, he was very courageous.
Tracee gets $10,000 in her cash builder.
The Supernerd offers Tracee $2,500 to go low and $35,000 to go high.
Tracee sticks with $10,000.
As Tracee got to a situation where she was one away from making it back and also one away from going home with nothing. That meant one question shoot-out time.
Tracee got it wrong and The Supernerd got it right, therefore Tracee got caught by the skin of The Supernerd's teeth.
Tom gets $14,000 in his cash builder.
The Supernerd offers Tom $4,000 to go low and $50,000 to go high.
Tom sticks with $14,000.
He gets back to the desk with that $14,000. As Tom did not answer a single individual chase question incorrectly, he could have easily went for $50,000.
Tom chose Set B for the final chase, therefore The Supernerd gets Set A.
Tom started with a 1 step head start and finished with only 13 steps.
The Supernerd caught him with 21 seconds left on the clock.
Friday 26th February
This episode's team of four are Kym, Andy, Rhiannon and Mick
Kym is first to play and gets $8,000 in her cash builder.
Who is the chaser for this episode?
Could it be perhaps "The Governess" Anne Hegarty. She will probably ask you to turn the other cheek because one slap is never enough for her.
Or is it "The Supernerd" Issa Schultz. Ever since he started on this show he has been asked on more dates then ever before. Two.
Maybe "The Shark" Brydon Coverdale. Plenty of fidh in the sea but only one shark on The Chase.
Or maybe "The Beast" Mark Labbett. He has been seeing the sights of Australia. He said Uluru is just like looking in a mirror.
Or maybe "Goliath" Matt Parkinson. As cunning as a black cat and just as unlucky.
The chaser is... The Shark!
The Shark offers Kym $2,000 to go low and $26,000 to go high.
Kym sticks with $8,000
Kym gets caught with 2 steps remaining. (Interesting fact: The Shark got 2 question wrong and still caught Kym)
Andy gets only $4,000 in his cash builder.
The Shark offers Andy $2,000 to go low and $20,000 to go high.
Andy decides to go the low offer of $2,000.
Andy gets back to the desk with his $2,000. Andy did not get any questions wrong in his individual chase so he could have even gone for the high offer of $20,000.
Rhiannon gets $10,000 in her cash builder.
The Shark offers Rhiannon $4,000 to go low and $38,000 to go high.
Rhiannon decides to stick with $10,000.
Rhiannon gets back to the desk with her $10,000. She made the right decision to take the middle offer. She would have been caught if she went high.
Mick only gets $2,000 in his cash builder.
The Shark offers Mick $500 to go low and $25,000 to go high.
Mick backs himself and decides to go for the high offer of $25,000.
Mick gets back home to the desk with his $25,000.
Mick did so good in his individual chase that it was impossible to be caught.
Total prize fund for this episode is $37,000. If the team win, that is $12,333.33 each.
The team chooses Set B and therefore The Shark gets Set A.
The team started with a 3 step head start and ended up with only 11 steps. (Has there been a target set for a chaser lower then 11 by a three person team anywhere in the world?)
Did The Shark catch the team? Of course he did. (serious questions would need to be asked if The Shark failed to catch 11)
The Shark caught the team with 1 minute and 13 seconds left to spare.
Let's begin with last week's bunch of episodes
