I'm talking about this:
Before its reintroduction in 2010, UK contestants who took part in either the Live 300th show, the 2002 Christmas specials or the April 2003 celebrity specials had access to a rather interesting version of the "Flip" (or "Switch the Question") lifeline. It worked the same way as the newer versions of the lifeline, but you could use it on any question (you did not need to earn it), and most importantly, in order to use it, you needed to discard one of your remaining lifelines.
This got me thinking. How viable could this version of STQ be on the current version of the show?
My immediate thought was "No way". However, after seeing that almost the totality of the contestants who used this version of Flip chose to discard their 50:50, it may be of certain use, knowing that 50:50 usually removes the two answers a contestant has already eliminated by themselves. Or maybe a contestant doesn't trust the audience or their Plus One and thinks that the STQ will be of more use. It may be even used in conjunction with the current "Cut the Question" lifeline, lowering a question's difficulty in exchange of losing one of the remaining lifelines...
What do you guys think?
EDIT: changed video size and a word.

I think it could not work. The question writers would need to write 4 different questions for each difficulty level.
They would rather want the same amount of questions to go towards 4 different contestants.
