When I was in NYC a few years ago, I saw the old Hot Seat in the hallway outside the studio with a tarp over it. Not sure if they still have it or not, though it would be really disappointing if it's been scrapped. I remember seeing them sit in the hallway outside when I attended the 66th Street studio during Clock format. So they are definitely ready. If they're not in Vegas, I'm willing to bet they're over in one of ABC's or Sony's warehouses.

I may be able to go to a taping; I'll let you know when their schedule comes out. No promises that I'll be able to go, though.

Hello everyone! I'm "new" to the boards.. Well I've followed them for a while but finally registered. My name is Shane and also like everyone here a huge fan. I've been to tapings with Every host, and am a fanatic.. I heard last year there was a potential move in progress, I'm a flight attendant and would fly to CT for tapings quite often the move to Vegas is super exciting and I can now attend many many more.. I plan on being at the first day of filming and if anyone else is there I'd love to meet you all! I will post any pics or vids or insider info I can get! Nice to finally be here and hope to get to know some of you soon!

I'm in Vegas 3-4 times a year so I'll get to actually go to some tapings now. Fun stuff!
Not sure why there is so much worry about the move. Gambling capital known worldwide with constant tourist traffic gives them a high level of constant visibility. Not to mention a practical guarantee of filling every seat of the audience, every show, with an extremely energetic diverse group of people from all over the country/world that are very encouraging towards high risk taking.
Not exactly something they had in Connecticut, and it sounds refreshing from people looking disinterested, yawning and not as engaged as they used to be. I'm looking forward to the change!

Possibly bumping a dead thread but
Face it for so many years the tapings have been in the east coast. I hoping that moving the show to the west coast will bring some opportunities for contestants and audience haven't had before.

Possibly bumping a dead thread but I don't think you necessarily have to worry about bumping a dead thread here. One would assume this thread would eventually be updated with a report by someone who went to a taping.

I really don't think that moving Millionaire to Vegas is a good thing. Millionaire has always been a trivia game. Now that the show is in Vegas, people will mistake it as some sort of "gambling" game. Some game shows have that sort of reputation when taping there for a national audience. For example, Las Vegas Gambit (a spinoff of the original Gambit) would work perfectly in Vegas since the game is based off of Blackjack. Another thing I would like to say is that I hope the producers would make the first five questions easier this season since there were some people in the past season who were already wasting their lifelines on the first five questions. Other than that, I hope Millionaire has a good time in Vegas.

Was the move to Connecticut noticeable? To me it wasn't, and I don't think it'll be different this time. It's not like they keep repeating "We're in Vegas!" And if somebody doesn't realize they're watching a quiz, the show might not be for them.

The audience would probably get bored of the show if they say "We're in Vegas" in each episode.

Essentially like milliondollarsav said. Millionaire is a show that you don't really need to mention it past the first couple of episodes and tapings. In fact, unless it's an outdoor studio or special, you really don't need to mention it at all.

How is saying "we're in Vegas" any different from what they used to say at the end of the show, "from New York, everybody, goodnight!"?

From what I gather the show is making a pretty big deal out of the fact that they are now in Vegas. The graphics visible on set will (at least for some episodes) show that fact. (Rest of the graphics and set will be the same.)

Another thing I would like to say is that I hope the producers would make the first five questions easier this season since there were some people in the past season who were already wasting their lifelines on the first five questions.. I just noticed in the first episode of the "Chris Harrison Millionaire Era" said: "This season we're mixing things up a little: no more jumping questions, NO MORE EASY ANSWERS. Just a single player determined to win that million dollars. One person answering the question, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" I think they increased the difficulty with every single question including the first 5 by which we were accustomed to be easy. They already did that in the 14th season. I bet they will carry that rule on the 15th season. Considering that they had inflated the amounts, I bet they also have to heighten the difficulty as well. The first five questions now are still answerable but harder.
