I just noticed in the first episode of the "Chris Harrison Millionaire Era" said: "This season we're mixing things up a little: no more jumping questions, NO MORE EASY ANSWERS. Just a single player determined to win that million dollars. One person answering the question, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" I think they increased the difficulty with every single question including the first 5 by which we were accustomed to be easy. They already did that in the 14th season. I bet they will carry that rule on the 15th season. Considering that they had inflated the amounts, I bet they also have to heighten the difficulty as well. The first five questions now are still answerable but harder. Like the questions had been easy in previous years. Frankly, I'm starting to do better on Only Connect and University Challenge, than on Millionaire. I've been discussing the issue with that time and again, but I just find what they're doing to the show incredibly frustrating. And I wouldn't mind if they did away with those intros next season. The ones I've seen were all pretty nonsensical and wasted time. And FinalAnswer19: I hadn't thought about the "From New York"-line, thanks for pointing it out. That's how much I noticed. What I meant was that I would find it annoying if they kept pointing it out in the middle of the show, like "You just won $2,000 here in Vegas" or "We'll be right back for more Millionaire, coming to you from Vegas." The New York thing was really only said at the beginning or the end of the show.

Thanks for sharing the backstage photos with us FinalAnswer19. What I've seen in some of the photos is that "Las Vegas" is added to the logo. I've also realized that the screen next to the contestant and host podiums used for the money ladder has been changed.

Oh. I never noticed that. Thanks for pointing it out, GSK. It's just that the screen looked shorter than the one from last season.

Oh thank you for these photos...these give a new preview of the upcoming season..I just noticed that the logos on the screen are those seen on ads to promote the show because the logo is a little bit darker in terms of color...Sad news though, THERE IS STILL NO HOT SEAT! Maybe they've thrown them away for good.

No they've decided to just stick with the "HD" set from the shuffle/SuperMix era. The chairs are indeed still around. I'm willing to bet they're either in some kind of museum or possibly in the storage unit.

Oh I hope so..What's so bad about the hot seat in an HD-oriented "Millionaire" set?? I think it's very nostalgic and indeed much better. It doesn't damage the set or gameplay. I am really hoping they would bring it out for a technically milestone anniversary celebration of the show.

MainitNaSilya: If they decide to bring back the hot seat, I would imagine they would use it for one of three particular anniversaries. A. 20 years since the first US episode ever. (August 2019) B. 15 years since the first US syndicated episode ever (sometime in 2017) C. Maybe it could be a tribute to the original UK version and the 20th anniversary since the first ever episode anywhere in the world (4th September 2018)
Unfortunately I feel that it will be D. None of the above I think that because isn't US Millionaire's ratings going down, down or at least frozen on bad ratings?

Well back when Meredith Vieira was still hosting the show, the hot seat was removed because they thought that it doesn't bring out suspense anymore...Well I think no, it wasn't. I think Meredith was the problem. Yeah, she hosted good on the show, she held a descent job hosting it...but when sometimes she puts up too much motherly affections to the contestants that she forgets to inject the proper suspense needed for the program. When Cedric and Terry came in, it felt too much energy for the show and they didn't care about suspense. When Chris hosted the show, the suspense was brought back. The Hot Seat didn't damage the show---It's how the host try to execute the program. ---only my opinion---- Edit: When Chris Harrison was at the helm....ratings went to increase with Millionaire having a rating of 1.5 which is good.. Proof Millionaire Ratings

I agree with the suspense. With Harrison on board, it shouldn't be that hard to revamp back to how everything was from 2004-2010.
EDIT: Judging how the $100,000 Pyramid, Celebrity Feud, and Match Game fared this summer, I'd bet ABC would get the idea on how to reboot game shows. Here's hoping they'll do the same for Millionaire in about 3 years' time, maybe sooner than that.

The only upsetting part is that it looks like they uprooted the exact set from the CT studio and moved it to Vegas... I was REALLY hoping for something new and exciting.. A much taller set perhaps, the space they moved into is HUGE and could accommodate such a set.. I was also really hoping for a possible Hot Seat return to bring back some suspense.. Kinda disappointing.. I hope that "Vegas" doesn't become a focal point.. But hey we haven't heard the soundtrack yet.. There's always hope for a little bit of a revamp.. Pleassseeeeeeee!!!

I don't think they'll change the soundtrack. If they do, they better not use "Viva Las Vegas".

I mean I get that ABC/Disney might still be a little bitter about the lawsuit a few years ago, but with Sony now in charge of Millionaire (at least in name only), I figured there might be a shot. Especially with the landmark anniversary coming up soon.
