Question for you all,
Why is it that when US television gets to produce a format from other countries, it has to be different from its international counterpart?
For example, the US logos for shows like "Millionaire," "Weakest Link," and "Survivor" look different from their original designs from abroad. Your thoughts and opinions please?

I'm generally thinking to make it more of their own. The same can be said for shows that are exported from the US to international markets. (Price is Right is one that comes to mind.)
Heck, even Boom's studio internationally is different than the US.version (*moment of silence for the US version*). Most of the US shows goes for flashy and bright and tries to edge towards that.

To be fair with Million Dollar/Pound Drop, they actually ended up changing halfway through the series didn't they? I think they even changed fonts midway through the episode.
And in the case of The Chase US vs. Chase UK, I think it was just the size of the studios.

retched, In the U.S. Chase, I think the set design appeared to be more gothic and darker than the other ones around the globe particularly comparing it with the UK Chase. Also the audience are located at the back of the set whereas in the UK, they're in front. I have also have noticed that U.S. tries to have something unique in them like when they adopted Weakest Link, the floor design was a little different compared with the international look of the floor. And in Deal or No Deal, they added a little element of pagentry with the presence of the models and the plexiglass flip top box for decision-making. Well I guess they want to dominate with their adaptation since after all, it's America, it's a powerful country and they would want to make the impression they can do better in adaptation of game shows..
