So like I said in the shoutbox earlier, I was doing listen checks and inventory for the massive load of game show sound effects I have on my desktop (currently there's Millionaire, Classic Concentration, Match Game, Pyramid, and a few others)... and I ran into something. Typing in the name Ken Basin (one of the last people to get up the ladder to the MDQ and bombed out with Regis on the "Fresca" question) into Google gave me a weird result. Turns out there's a Ken Basin profile on LinkedIN a profile where he is listed as the VP of US Business Affairs of Sony Pictures Television. Could that be the same Ken Basin as the player? I wonder how that came about. Here's the playback if you don't know who I'm talking about:

I dunno. I tried reverse image search on Ken's image to see if anything came up, and sure enough, something came up.

Looks like him to me. When he was on the show, he did say he was an entertainment lawyer.

That's him, all right. Looks like his career is really taking off!
Ironically, Sony is largely in control of the WWTBAM brand for most countries except the United States, where its role is secondary only to Disney.

Which is funny as Jeopardy is also owned by Sony Pictures Television. HA!

Goodness, it would be awesome to find the episode of Jeopardy in which he appeared in. While it was sad to see how he lost $475,000 on Millionaire, he seems to be doing quite well, today. Becoming VP of US Business Affairs of Sony Pictures Television, I'm not exactly sure what the salary is for that job, but anyone know if that means he made back his loss, and perhaps even more?

Even then, that was still quite a run. While he missed his mark, he is the only one who made it all the way to the Million-Dollar question under the pressure of the clock. No one else did it, even under the Tournament of Ten format.

...but anyone know if that means he made back his loss, and perhaps even more? I would say that's a pretty safe bet...

what if they give him a second channel The current version of the show has been doing Second Chance Weeks, but they've all showcased big losers from the previous season. Realistically, I think it'd be too late to give Ken Basin a second chance. Besides, I don't think he'd need or even want one, if he's as successful today as we think he is.
