This is VERY disappointing. As parallel to Brexit, Matt Terry has WON over Saara Aalto for the title of the Winner of The X Factor 2016. I thought Saara has won because of her incredible story from being 100/1 on odds to favorite to WIN, especially in her performances in Weeks 8-10. In fact, Wiwibloggs said, "Saara actually won Saturday’s show, which saw her cover Tears For Fears before duetting with Adam Lambert. She amassed 35.3% of all votes, which put her just ahead of Matt, who earned 33.4%, and 5 After Midnight, who finished last with 31.3%.But fortunes turned on Sunday, with Matt pushing his final tally up to 48.5% to Saara’s 40.4% — a margin of victory of 8.1%.", as seen in the voting statsOne thing is for sure, Matt's legion of “girls, grannies and gays” prevailed over Saara's Finnish army. So completely disappointed. Saara Aalto is the REAL winner of The X Factor 2016.

Oh, please... That bloomin' referendum most certainly did not affect the results of The X Factor... The fact anybody thinks it would have is preposterous. (NOTE: Yes, I know politics are off-limits, but I've had it up to here with people calling the 17 million who voted for Brexit things like 'uneducated', 'stupid', and 'racists and xenophobes'. Just because somebody is against the EU, that doesn't make them racist. I'm actually a remainer myself, but I won't go any further into all this. It's irrelevant.) Also, I can't speak for anyone else, but I find the phrase 'girls, grannies and gays' incredibly rude. You're implying through your phrasing that there's something wrong about wanting Matt to win. There isn't, if the public voted for him then that's that. Thirdly, Saara Alto may have been the better singer, IMO, but she wasn't the winner. She was the runner-up. That can't be changed, and if she was destined to be a music star she'll be signed up by someone in a heartbeat. Coming 2nd can actually be a good thing, as you don't get chained to Simon Cowell's rules of having to wait for about 6 months before you can release anything. Saara is now, unlike Matt, free to release an album or single whenever she's able to, not when Mr. Cowell tells her to. Another thing, The X Factor is going right down the pan. I mean, look at the ratings. More people watched the semi-final than the final, and more so, about 4.4 million more people watched the semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing than the grand final of X Factor. In fact, both major ITV winter shows of The X Factor and I'm A Celebrity were both consistently beaten by Strictly this year. The X Factor's run it's course. People just aren't as interested as they used to be. They made the show far too gimmicky for it to work, and now it's ratings are falling year on year. Now what other ITV show does that sound like... And, anyway. Strictly's just better to watch. It's funnier, much more entertaining, with contestants like Ed Balls and Judge Rinder, and is just different than the typical singing competitions. The judges serve much more of a purpose on Strictly. On The X Factor the just go to Deadlock most weeks due to their act allegiances. On Strictly, the judges have no 'acts', and give their expert opinions on the dancers with a scoring system to boot. Much more beneficial for the contestants themselves, as well as undecided voters at home. The sooner ITV realise that The X Factor needs a major change in order to be relevant anymore, the better. Otherwise it'll just be cancelled. Simple, really.

X Factor has really taken a turn for the worse. I watched it a few times after noticing that Simon Cowell was a judge, likewise to BGT. It was slightly entertaining to watch at the time but it just isn't anymore for me...

In fact, look at the comments on the other side of the spectrum. One thing, the producers themselves wanted him to win, so once again, the British public made a very terrible decision.

Ah yes, us stupid British public, always making bad decisions! Who'd have thought it! Voting for a reality TV show winner, can't even do that right!
I'll admit, Saara was better, but you cannot call people stupid based on how they vote.

All I can say is that we are entitled to our opinion and we have different views and ways on how we see things. But the way you rant over things that didn't go your favor, isn't really going to change anything, over competitions such as Eurovision and in this case X Factor. And to compare this to Brexit is rather ridiculous. You can't have everything your way in life, no matter how political, talented, ridiculous a situation is.
