What do the currency amounts on our profile mean? And how do they change? Are they like by post count or something?

Yes.
The money value is directly proportional to your post count. As far as I'm aware, 50 posts makes 1.000$ and 100 makes 32.000$. The more you post, the better your rank.
That being said, it is recommended that you DO NOT just try to reach these thresholds by creating filler threads or posts. It will irritate other users more than impress them and it'll be a bad mark on your audition (if you decide to try and gain access)
Hope I helped!

metemeister is correct. The dollar amount in your profile increases with your post count.

I wish you earned that amount every hour...what a ripoff. That would be hilariously dumb, and let me tell you why: I, for one, am very active in terms of being online on the site. However, I really find no incentive to start a conversation about anything at times, and I really am of no use for most of the time I stick around on this site. If that amount was gained every hour, you'd be meeting dozens of accounts created by a few people which purposefully AFK while being on the website to farm 'points' - this would cause the Fan Games Auditions to be even more of a pain to Pass Holders, and an even more unachievable dream to pass for many members like me. People who keep their accounts on just to look more 'trustworthy' on their auditions. Nobody wants that, including the staff members. In short, people would abuse it and it would be even more of a 'ripoff' than the system which this forum currently holds. Think about it.

We get that amount annually.

If they do, then they owe me lots and lots of money for that forum I never use. More seriously, no, they don't. Anyone can create a forum on Proboards. Why would they pay people to create a forum? That pretty much goes completely against Business 101.
