Which do you think is better? Double Dip or 50/50?
Personally I think Double Dip is better as it is the only lifeline where you can have two attempts at a question, which is useful if you really can't decide between the two.
Obviously, if Double Dip and 50/50 were both available, you could use both but I wouldn't see the point in using two lifelines on one question.

I think 50/50 is better for the nature of the game, but I too would prefer to have Double Dip, since I'm probably going to get a slight idea for every question, but 90% of the time it would just be a guess. Somehow I think I have a better experimental chance of getting it right from two choices of four rather than one choice of two.

Although I do like how Double Dip works more, I'd say that the 50:50 is more useful, although both have their pros and cons which make them both more or less useful depending on the situation.
So, say you're on a question where you know two answers that are definitely incorrect. Here, Double Dip is better as you can give both of these answers and still go on to the next level. 50:50 could potentially leave the two you're stuck between, which is completely useless.
However, if you know one or zero answers that are incorrect, the 50:50 is now the more useful lifeline, simply because you can't walk away with the Double Dip, whereas you can with the 50:50. In this case, the 50:50 can potentially get you to the next level by leaving the one answer that you know is incorrect, whereas with Double Dip, you have 2 chances with 3 answers and the inability to walk away. This then leaves you with a 33% chance of dropping down to the last milestone. Also, if 50:50 doesn't help you, you can just walk away from the game.
Another point is that the 50:50 can definitely remove two wrong answers, whilst Double Dip can only remove a maximum of one.
The no walking away clause with the Double Dip really does make 50:50 much more favourable with me.
However, both lifelines add an element of risk to Millionaire, which can make 50:50 look worse, and Double Dip look better. In the first few series of the UK show, you'd see a lot of people have no clue on the question, use 50:50, and then take a guess anyway, as a 50% chance of guessing correctly is a lot better than a 25% chance. The blind guess with better odds made some people win big, and others lose thousands of pounds. But, due to not being able to walk away with Double Dip, this may deter some people from using it, and they will just walk away. Obviously, these rules don't apply on questions 1, 6 and 11. (Or 1, 3 and 8, depending on the format.)
Overall, I think 50:50 is, most of the time, more useful. Double Dip is quite a good lifeline, but the fact it locks you into the question makes the 50:50 better when the drops are bigger. Although, when used together, they are the only two lifelines which guarantee you to get the question right and move onto the next level. In unison, they are the best lifelines on the show. When used separately, they both have flaws which can make the other lifeline better.

I think both are good if you know how to use them. If you use the 50/50, I would not rule out any choices, because I have the superstition that they'll just erase the answers you know are wrong if you say them out loud. So sometimes the 50/50 works, sometimes it doesn't, so I guess you could say that the chance of the 50/50 working is - 50/50.
Double dip is fantastic if you had it down to 2. Then you can just choose both and you got it. But if there's any small doubt, I wouldn't risk it, especially if there's a large amount of money involved.
But if I had to choose, I'd say the Double Dip since you control your destiny in the game with it, while the 50/50 is just a chance.

Jason Block gave me advice that I loved, and still believe to this day. The 50:50 is the most powerful lifeline because it's the only lifeline that is always right.

How about both??? Oh wait that would be pointless!
I say double dip because you have The question whittled down to two possible answers via deductive reasoning, then you can activate it and possibly win some dough
