While I was walking home today I thought of a crazy idea for a gameshow.

There are one million contestants answering a series of questions via an online app, only one will win the game and a million dollars. They answer a series of questions and if they get even just one question wrong, they're eliminated. It's kinda like Channel 5's Whittle but with 10000x more people and a big cash prize at stake.

Would this work? or is it just a pipe dream?

You're basically describing the WWTBAM phone game qualifier. Are you suggesting televising the preliminary game with a million players?
