I may be in the minority on this one, but my favorite of Millionaire's various music packages is the Clock format's music package. I don't know what it is, but the Clock format's music sounds more intense than the classic music, and a lot more melodic, but that's just me. What's your favorite Millionaire music package, and why?

I would have to agree on your point about the clock format music, the added elements of the clock sound, puts the intensity up a little bit, which adds to the suspense. But you still can't go past the Classic version music. How they made it intense for each question, whether it be $100 or $1 Million, and that $1,000,000 lose music is a sound that anyone playing the game never wanted to hear.

As far as favorite soundtracks go, I like a little bit of everything, even from U.S. Millionaire. The complete opening sequence for Super Millionaire and the 10th Anniversary Celebration are just some of my favorite songs ever. But I really dig the question cues preferably from the classic and rave formats. From the current version of U.S. Millionaire, I'm not as much a fan, except for the cues for the last four questions. I like the sense of progression and added intensity.

I also agree with this. I love how the clock format added a lot of suspense to the game, forcing the players to make a decision much quicker than in the classic format. I also like how they altered the level 1 music ($100 - $500 questions) from the classic format version.

I like the clock music as well. The themes have more punch to them.

I think the clock format music is not only the best articulation of the WWTBAM score, it's easily the best TV music package I've ever heard. Matthew Strachan took themes that were already great and made them even better by weaving the tension of the clock throughout the tracks.

What's interesting about the clock format is that most of the added effects are from stock libraries, like the $100-$1,000 bed has that... beat, I don't know how to describe it, but I've heard it from other pieces before, outside of Millionaire. Of course the ticking was stock, but syncing up the old music with the clock made the Clock format music a masterpiece.

For a random example, on Dick Clark's New Year Rockin' Eve, when the ball is dropping, the clock tick sound for the last number of years is the one of those used in clock era Millionaire!

For a random example, on Dick Clark's New Year Rockin' Eve, when the ball is dropping, the clock tick sound for the last number of years is the one of those used in clock era Millionaire! I think using that clock tick sound is very appropriate for the new year countdown. It's like, "hold on to your bottoms, the end of the year is actually here, and you don't want to miss it". In Millionaire, the fast-ticking clock sounds in the first 14 questions would probably make a contestant a little uncomfortable at first, but after a while one gets used to it. Getting to hear the clock tick used in the $1m question for a good four minutes is as ominous as you can get owing to the sharp change of pace of the game. I wouldn't say the same about the last ten seconds, where the ticking begins to drown out the BGM, because if the clock gets to that point, the contestant has probably already decided to walk away with $500k.

I'm all in for the classic music, but clock is good, too. The score really complements the set and also matches the theme of life-changing decisions.

I like the clocked version score, but for some reason the scores used in the UK version are really good. They have moved on from the classic score to much more appealing, exciting and tense cues for questions.
They are being used since 2007. In my country (India), those cues are used since 4th version that aired in 2010.
Also, the Hot Seat version has entirely different cues which are fantastic for some initial questions but they just do not go well with bigger questions because I don't feel they are too intense for that level.
