So for as long as I watched Millionaire, the 5th and 10th question safety nets always had a name attached to them, courtesy of the host. Regis would call them "safe-havens," and ever since Chris Harrison hosted, he would address them as "thresholds." I don't recall Meredith ever calling them any of the above.
I thought Chris calling them thresholds was a bit odd. I never heard the safety nets being called that. I remember when I watched Meredith, I referred to them as milestones; I wanna know what you all prefer to call them?

For me they will always be safe havens. Regis would always hammer that term home in every Millionaire video game I've ever played, and I've played them a lot.

To me, "tier" doesn't refer to questions 5, 10, and 15, but rather sets of questions 1-5, 6-10, and 11-15. First tier, second tier, and third tier respectively.

The old ABC online game referred to them as "milestone questions." That's the only place that I can recall seeing a specific term being used for those questions.

Sad there's no 5th option in this poll... I always recall using the term "guaranteed sums" or as exambolor mentioned, "guaranteed amounts".

Bossing Vic (The host of the Philippine version) call it Safe-havens.

bossingvicfan I have raised your warning level to 10% for bumping two archaic threads. This particular one was over a year and a half old. If you’re going to bump a dead thread, you need a really good reason and need to be sure you add something constructive to the dead conversation. Please don’t bump anymore dead threads. If there’s a yellow bar that says the thread is inactive, that’s a good sign you should probably take a step back and think before posting. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
