Hello Everyone! Just finished up at today's tapings of Millionaire in Vegas. Very good day of shows, several contestants made it past $50,000. Also we saw a $500,000 question. I really thought he was going all the way. Some interesting things I noticed on the set.. There is metal scaffolding similar to the original set hung slightly above the existing lighting and behind it much like the original. I took several pics so you can all see. There is strong evidence of a prime time special coming soon. They were doing some corky things with the lighting and testing a few things differently. The contestants now walk in with Chris after the cold opening much like in the Meredith days at the top of the show., but they come down the stairs simultaneously after the cold open. The lights on the podiums have been more synced and definitely intensified to make them glow from within better. No change in the music but the logo no longer has the Vegas skyline on the big screen. There were two hot seat chairs backstage wrapped in plastic that looked brand new and the current podiums were angled slightly differently. The camera that been operating on the stairs in the audience the last few seasons is no longer there, it is now on the floor on a roller. You'll notice as well when someone crosses the 5 and 50,000 thresholds the lighting under the floor is a lot more noticeable as it creates the spin effect using both Orange and blue to make it pop. The questions seemed relatively easier this year, with the exception of the 250,000 and on. The area behind the contestants is now only 2.5 rows and the jib camera is a lot lower, they have also moved a lot of the Filming equipment back into the studio on that side.. the top part of the stairs was also shortened on that side. During breaks Patrick Michael (Head of ABC daytime syndication, and Rich Sirop were both on set as they did some testing on some light settings that were very "Prime Time" style. Also the lights where the FFF consoles would be have been spaced evenly and a 5th was added to each side in addition to having the tabs over the audience raised to a higher height. Behind the current lights they had a classic lighting set rigged up. This is just me speculating but Chris also did hint at a Prime Time special as well. That's all I have for now, but please enjoy the pics I have attached and let me know what you think! imgur.com/a/Hodw1

Thanks for the detailed set report, coasterrocker88! The lights do look a bit sharper in your photos. The classic style lighting rigs are fascinating, and I'm trying to decide if they're a functional addition or if they're actually there as an homage to the original set. The old Hot Seat has been backstage for many years. What makes you say that the Hot Seat you saw looked new? Also, how exactly did Chris hint at a prime time special? I'm curious how that came up during the taping. Once again, the only bit of bad news is that the music isn't changing. Also, check out the Celador branding on the Ask the Audience keypads!

I hope they change the music for the primetime special if they ever have one. Also, is that the hot seat? I'm probably just being crazy.

I remember Chris last year hinting towards a primetime special during a live stream, if that's correct.

Thanks for the detailed set report, coasterrocker88 ! ...how exactly did Chris hint at a prime time special? I'm curious how that came up during the taping. www.facebook.com/millionairetv/videos/10154747832315795/Here is the mentioned Facebook Live broadcast. I asked them a question regarding that. But yeah. Classic scaffolding? HYPE EDIT: coasterrocker88, were the classic "arches" there as well (or, at least, the ones from Super Millionaire until Shuffle)?

I'm also wondering about the strips on the floor. They're supposed to be in a "V"-like shape but it seems they overlooked that detail when they switched to Shuffle. Oh, and you can't have primetime Millionaire without the FFF consoles!

Oh, and you can't have primetime Millionaire without the FFF consoles! I believe that the old arches were backstage.. there is a LOT of storage in the facility and they were keeping it well hidden.. I did manage to sneak a small peak and I think I caught a glimpse of some interesting things. Also the original hot seat chairs were just off set and the director and chris both sat in them periodically. Also the new chairs I saw were in boxes and wrapped in bubble wrap! As far as a prime time special, someone asked.. Chris smiled and said "Keep your ears and eyes open"

This is pretty interesting and exciting stuff. First of all i looked through the gallery of pics. it looks so interesting and somehow different. 3stairs instead 2 and 5 instead of 4 spotlights including the old lightning above. so cool! I wonder what they've planned for this studio. I mean somehow i cant imagine how the hot seat will fit in this studio. Because the little host and contestant screens are missing. And if they use them again, what will they do with the big screen with the big contestant and host screen? If you look closely, there is the big hosts screen and that small one. I wonder whats the meaning of that small one next to the stairs. And the questions are easier to 50k? Well i guess they want to play that Millionaire Soundtrack so badly. Compared to Season 15, more than half of the players walked with 5k. Ill stay tuned ^^ Pretty interesting questions.. Unfortunatly i will never know..i have to wait until the all-new Season starts. i'm from Germany but i like this version so much. As you may know (without making any advert) i collected the whole 15th season on my channel www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeMCRjpZz3M&list=PLSzsip7Ra-DzzigmMe-3PNUphyjYNb9tR and i would like to do it with the next one too but i have a lot less time this year. It would be great to do this job with the whole community here so that we have one more season

LOVE the album.. GSK did you think the questions were relatively easier during your tapings? At least until a higher level? Several people made it to $50,000 during mine and one to $500,000. How were your contestants? Also did you notice the floor has been significantly cleaned up and possibly replaced since previous seasons, last year when I went there were scratches everywhere this year it was like new.

I don't think so, no. None of the contestants during my taping made it above $10,000, which was really the only low point for me. The previous taping, contestants made it into the third tier; I could see fireworks on the screen from the lobby. This was my first taping ever, so I didn't notice any difference in the floor quality. Reidb1700 and I have already decided though that we'll absolutely go back for the impending 20th anniversary tapings.

Dang, I'm sorry no one made it very far when you were in attendance. However I am very happy to hear you are going for the 20th Anniversary tapings WHEN they happen! That's me being very optimistic and knowing it will happen lol. I hope to go too! Please keep me posted if you hear anything else!

Small random question, kind of relates back to the program making and when I attended one of the shuffle tapings... when they were loading you into the audience and having you wait for the action to start, did they do the automatic playthrough of a stack of questions going all the way to the Million? (Playing for the "Audience's Bank")
