Whoa, I was on the edge of my seat! What a night! Fantastic television, but I feel really bad for the kid, having done so well and lost so much. Truly a gut wretching moment!

But, at least he still has $25,000. It also happened in the Netherlands once in a Christmas episode...the guy went for €1,000,000 but gave a wrong answer, and lost €234,000 of the €250,000 he had, so he went home with €16,000. |

We had the same moment in Russian version some years ago too. The contestant lost 468,000 roubles (of cource, it's not the same amount of dollars but not a small sum). It's always sadly when someone lost money being one step away from the winning.

With the million dollar question graphics I was surprised that the question was not lit up in gold along with the timer (like it is with the iPhone/iTouch CapCom game). Other than that I was stoked to hear the new special music (like the Capcom game) and I actually like it better than the original million dollar music!
Going back to the game...I mean I'm exhausted (LOL). What a finale episode last night! So insanely gutsy to play that question the way he did but I think he was just feeling it after getting a relatively average question pack and nailing that $500 K question (with conflicting advice from Jerome and Bill Nye) on his way to the $1 million! I would have walked away--$500 K that you have and can invest?!?!? I could deal with walking away and knowing I could have/have not been a millionaire. MAN, I can't believe I stayed away from the spoilers so long to get the treat of seeing THAT last night...completely unexpected! Kudos to Ken for that gamble though! Interestingly, after the first contestant missed the $100 K question about the top 2009 grossing movie I was like "Meredith clearly being the celebrity contestant just can NOT be the big surprise could it?!?!?" (LOL) "She would be expected to be a part of the anniversary
in some way shape or form...right?!?!?". Thank you Michael Davies for the two week series and please talk with ABC to bring primetime Millionaire back for another run!

I think it would be a great book, but I think if anyone wrote it, it would have to be Ken. I'd be interested to hear what he had to say on the matter (outside of his postings after the show aired).
