I hope that it happens, using the classic set design, hot seat, music, graphics, and everything else from 1999-2010. And I hope that Regis Philbin returns, or if not him, then Chris Tarrant. I think that he needs to host the U.S. version of the show for at least one syndicated season. If they brought back the classic version for the 20th anniversary celebration, it would truly be amazing! Also, it would be quite interesting to see Chris Tarrant hosting the syndicated version of WWTBAM.

Are you going to put a gamble on that? Twenty bucks says that it will happen before the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. I have no idea what you're talking about. Gamble on what? I have no idea what the 2019 Southeast Asian Games are. Gamble on what you said that something will happen. Besides, Southeast Asian Games held every two consecutive odd-numbered years.

I also don't know what the Southeast Asian Games have to do with Millionaire's potential 20th anniversary. :\

They need to bring Chris Tarrant to the United States, and have him host the show for at least one season. It will give the show a sense of European/international flair to the show, and make it more inline with the rest of the international versions of the show. What Disney needs to do is give up half the rights to the show and sell that half to Sony, which owns 2waytraffic, allowing them to release international products related to the show here in the United States, and then Disney can still own the other half, and give away additional prizes, such as vacations to their Disney theme parks, or Disney cruises (for regular contestants), and have celebrities from their movies and TV shows sit in the hot seat, playing for charity.

I think Chris is currently doing some documentaries over here in the UK, there are certainly some on Channel 5. (Chris Tarrant: Extreme Railways) Although the critics don't seem to like it much, I can't say, I haven't watched it. I think for something like that to happen the show would have to return to a UK-style set and format, which would inevitably mean using the Rave music. I do think I recall reading somewhere that if the US show got the axe, Sony would wait for 2 years and then try and revive it, in line with the international format. (Don't quote me on this, though. If someone else can remember where this was, feel free to clarify what it said. ) However, by taking the show partially back to its roots, the ratings went up (I think, anyway). This could well indicate that a shift towards international standards could potentially be a good thing, although I can't see Disney wanting to do this. If they were to do a special series of anniversary episodes, I feel that someone the American public know, like Meredith, would be far better suited than someone that you'd probably have to be a big fan of Millionaire to know. It certainly appears that something *could* be happening this side of the Atlantic, with the new YouTube channel and the 20th Anniversary coming up next September. I know myself and others have said before about Studio 9 being owned by the BBC, although they could let ITV use it for Millionaire. Current blueprints of the studio show that the layout has changed, but it doesn't take a genius to see the remnants of the old Millionaire set, mainly the odd shape of the corners of the stage. It can be seen here. (Scroll down to Stage 9, Design with Audience document) Just like with the American set, I can't imagine all the old pieces being thrown out. I'm getting off topic, so maybe I should start a new thread to do with our 20th Anniversary a bit closer to the time.

If they do bring it back in 2019, this is the money tree that they should use:
1: $1,000 2: $2,000 3: $3,000 4: $4,000 5: $5,000 6: $6,000 7: $10,000 8: $15,000 9: $25,000 10: $50,000 11: $75,000 12: $150,000 13: $250,000 14: $500,000 15: $1 million
Lifelines: Phone a Friend - makes a phone call to one of up to three friends placed backstage in isolated sound-proof booths 50:50 - randomly eliminates two incorrect answers Ask the Audience - polls the audience using digital keypads for the most popular answer

The $6,000 is so strangely placed. Can you elaborate on why you picked $6,000?

Why is the $6,000 weird?

Your tree goes from $5,000 to $6,000. This is the only position in the tree after the first five questions that it only jumps by $1,000.
A more apt solution for the money tree would be to either revert it to the classic era tree, or change the $6,000 to $7,500 so it flows a little better, but that's just my two cents.

I actually think the current tree is good as is, with the exception, of course, of bringing the game back to 15 questions, should they decide to bring back the Strachan score.
6 should be $7,000 or $7,500 -- no further debate on that.
I would keep the $75,000 on the 11th question, but go back to how it started on 12 with $125,000 instead of $150,000. The latter option on 12 seems too much of a jump.

Then I'll change the value of question 6 to $8,000, but I'll leave question 12 at $150,000, since on the UK version, the monetary value for the £125,000 question was increased to £150,000.

Yes, I agree with you as well, my friend. The amount of $7,000 would actually fit a bit better, since you would only have to add $2,000 to the guaranteed safe haven, which would be more fitting in my opinion. But the amounts between $125,000 and $150,000 are a bit harder to decide, since both of them would actually be reasonable for the money tree.

I would give anything, absolutely anything, for that to happen and to be on the show. I want Regis, the original lifelines and the original money tree, if possible.
I was a little kid when it first aired, and was just under 18 for the 10th Anniversary special. I'd love to have my turn.
