I know of at least two contestants who lost because they spoke too fast: one contestant won absolutely nothing at all after accidentally giving a wrong answer to his $100 question because he spoke too fast and accidentally said final answer, and another contestant answered her $4,000 question incorrectly in the same manner and left with only $1,000. I don't remember the names of the contestants or the questions that they faced, but I just recall the fact that they lost because they spoke too fast. Are there any other cases of this occurring?

The four I know off the top of my head were Chase Sampson's $100 Question: "Homeowners buy surge protectors to protect their possessions from unexpected surges of what? A: Electric Current B: Water Flow C: Air Pressure D: Buyer's Remorse". Paul Weir Galm's $100 question was "Which of these phrases is a common way of saying 'I can't take it anymore!'? A: That's the last stick! B: That's the last leaf! C: That's the last straw! D: I'm moving to Canada!" That Harvard student's (I was never given the name at all) $4,000 question was "Denny's restaurants offer a signature breakfast dish named after what sports term? A: Slam Dunk B: Touchdown C: Knockout D: Grand Slam". In 2010, Lovi Yu's $500 question was "When attacked by predators, which of these animals will often activate a large gland known as an ink sac? A: Cheetah B: Squid C: Owl D: Paris Hilton". She accidentally answered C, when the correct answer was B.
On another note, I guess when the UK version was still running, they were probably not aware of this sort of trend. The closest example of this fascinated me for a particular reason. This one guy's mid-tier question (can't remember exactly which value) was stuck on a question until he just said his answer, final answer very quickly. Luckily, he turned out to be right, but Chris said "That was the fastest Final Answer I have ever witnessed!" I guess he had never heard of the examples of this trend stated earlier.....
