After two years of grueling matches in the qualification, the line-up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup is complete. Here are some facts: - Twenty countries competed at the previous edition of the FIFA World Cup.
- Iceland and Panama will make their debut, with the former being the smallest country in terms of population to reach the World Cup.
- Twelve countries return after their previous absences of more than one edition. The longest are Peru (since 1982), Egypt (since 1990), and Morocco (since 1998).
- It is the first time three Nordic countries (Iceland, Sweden and Denmark) and four Arab nations (Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco) have qualified for the World Cup.
- Notable countries who failed to qualify are Netherlands, Italy, Chile, United States, Cameroon, New Zealand, Ghana, Ivory Coast, and Algeria.
Here is the spreadsheet of all the complete teams and their basic information for further details.
In all, the 32 countries competing at the 2018 FIFA World Cup represent 21.80% of the world population, 9.69% of the total land area, 35.39% of the nominal GDP, and 20.63 million active military and paramilitary personnel.

As an Englishman, even though I don't really care, it looks like we might get to the knockouts.
Although I expect we'll manage to mess this up as well, somehow...
