Credit to Buzzerblog for finding out that Millionaire is trying out a new money tree this season. $1,000,000 $500,000 $250,000 $100,000 $50,000 $25,000* $15,000 $12,500 $10,000 $7,500 $5,000* $3,000 $2,000 $1,000 $500 Source: buzzerblog.flashgameshows.com/rumor-control-who-wants-to-be-a-millionaire-gets-a-new-money-chain-after-all/I think that's a really great tree, actually. I hope it goes well in the practice runs and they end up using that on the show. Having such a huge first safe haven will encourage people to gamble more. I just wish this money tree had been used on the primetime run for something different. Still, though, this is great news. |

While I think it's a good idea, I think it'd be better implemented into the UK Millionaire format - hopefully it'd override the 12 question set!

Is it actually being used now? Because I looked at the 'Tournament of 10 Leaderboard' at the website and the winners had the old money values under their names..

Well, forgive me for saying so, but I rather liked the old money tree, the one we mostly grew up on. This new tree is rather odd, with its $..,500 levels. But never mind, I'll just have to roll with the punches...

i also read somewhere that the old money levels would be evened out to match the new levels so noone in the top ten will feel cheated.

Although this is a pretty much dead thread by now, I do have to say that increasing the second safe haven to $50,000 (a la the UK version) would have worked better with $5,000 as the first safe haven. That way they could have had less awkward amounts in the middle, such as $12,500. But it's not terrible like this, I'm just saying it would have been better like that. Maybe a tree like this would have worked better:
$500, $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000, $30,000, $50,000, $75,000, $125,000, $250,000, $500,000, $1,000,000
