I definitely have to agree with futuregshost that this is a tough question... I’m not sure if I’m allowed to comment on other answers, but I don’t actually think Johnny Depp has ever won it. I think he’s similar to Leonardo DiCaprio in that he’s been nominated a lot but has never actually won it. Out of the other five, I really don’t know, unfortunately. I’m going to go with Daniel Day-Lewis, simply because I feel he’s the biggest name left on the board. I may well be wrong, but it’s the best I can come up with, so my answer is Daniel Day-Lewis. |

You know what? I agree with millionaireloveruk that this is a tough question. Knowing the fact that I haven't watched the Oscars ceremonies in full, I have to do some process of elimination. I also agree with him because I don't think Johnny Depp ever won the Best Actor category, but I am not heard of Samuel L. Jackson winning an Oscar despite nominating for, I believe it's "The Last King of Scotland". Over the four choices, I would've gone for Daniel Day-Lewis as well, but since he already chose it, I might think that Casey Affleck has won because his father won that for "A Beautiful Mind", and I believe he won for "La La Land", which is obviously the rightful winner for Best Picture, so I will lock in on Casey Affleck. |

Sheeesh. Movies are not my topic. I am very fortunate, however, to know for a fact which two of the answers are definitely wrong. And since there are 4 correct answers out of 6, that should mean that all the others are correct, so I have free choice, even if I could never tell you which movies they were actually awarded for, let alone when.
So. Samuel L. Jackson being one of my favorite actors, I am 100% certain that he's never received an Oscar. I know he was nominated for Pulp Fiction - and, for the record, I think it's a crime he wasn't awarded for it - but, apart from that, I can't tell you if he was nominated again. All I know is that he never won.
Additionally, I have to agree with millionairelover. I also think Johnny Depp has never actually won an Academy Award. He's been in many notable movies and is a household name, so it's easy to assume that he must have won an Oscar at some point, but I also recall that it has, in fact, never actually happened.
As such, the remaining four answers, outside of Samuel L. Jackson and Johnny Depp, must be correct, assuming I haven't made a grave mistake. So I'll pick Sean Penn.
...and that, of course, is my final answer.

So, I believe Jackson and Depp were the two who never won. From what I know, I don't remember Samuel L. Jackson even being nominated for an Oscar, so he's totally out. Then that means I'll reject Johnny Depp for Philip Seymour Hoffman.
