When Super Millionaire was introduced in 2004, a new lifeline was implemented aside from Double Dip: "Three Wise Men". That lifeline was available after a contestant has successfully answered the 10th question. If the contestant wanted to use the lifeline, three people who were chosen to be the experts would be asked the question and would try to answer it within the time of 30 seconds. In the 10th Anniversary of WWTBAM, the lifeline was brought back, but there were many differences: Firstly, only one expert was helping the contestant in case the lifeline was used in the question, hence why the name was changed to "Ask the Expert". When the contestant reached the first guaranteed safe haven on the money tree, the lifeline was added to the game and the chosen expert was introduced. If the contestant was stuck in a question and wanted to use the lifeline, the clock was stopped and the expert was asked the question. This time, the expert didn't have a time limit for that, which was also a difference compared to "Three Wise Men". If the expert thought a specific answer to be the correct one, the clock would start again where it left off and the contestant could either choose if the advice was right or not. What do you guys think of the change? Do you consider the original "Three Wise Men" lifeline to be better or is the revamped "Ask the Expert" the more ideal lifeline?

I think both of these lifelines have good parts and bad parts to them. Three Wise Men has the advantage in safety in numbers, but the time limit could be a significant down side if the experts can't quickly agree on an answer. Ask the Expert, meanwhile, only has one person to help, which could mean that if they don't have any idea the contestant is stuck, but the lack of a time limit means that even if the Expert doesn't know outright, they have more time to talk it over with the contestant, as opposed to a potential 30 seconds of squabbling between three people with different ideas.
I'd actually say these lifelines are of very near equal worth to a contestant. If I had to pick one though, I'd probably just about say Three Wise Men, as I think that if you have three people instead of one, you're more likely to get someone who either knows it, or has a very good idea.

Yes, indeed, I kinda agree. This is probably what makes the differences between the two lifelines so extraordinary - they bring their own upsides and downsides. But in my opinion, the two of them could've potentially been used for specific questions: For example, if the difficulty of the question is above the level of the second guaranteed sum, then the lifeline "Three Wise Men" would've been more useful, as there would be more people thinking about the question and having different ideas, as you've mentioned. "Ask the Expert" would be better for questions before the second guaranteed sum, in case the contestant should have trouble in one question, and the expert would likely be able to help out.

Yeah but 3 wise men is not a team of actual experts, they are just three random people, whereas the expert is a person of high education I suppose. Also, don’t you think it is better to ask one person that’s highly educated and smart instead of three people of medium knowledge who will also have to deal with each other on a timer?

The Three Wise Men on Super Millionaire were never just three 'random' people. They always consisted of one previous million dollar winner, as well as two other people, one of whom usually had a doctorate of some kind, as indicated by their title.
