Since none of the "generous" artists here wanted to publish an empty logo without any text, I correct their greed. My logo is created from scratch using free software Krita. The image is Full HD. PSD file with layers is also included (yes, Krita can easily save PSD format). Feel free to use it in your projects, insert your own text, make awesome avatars! Because programmers are truly generous people PSD is hereI publish this image under the Creative Commons Attribution license. This means that you can copy, modify and use it for commercial and non-commercial purposes. I will be grateful if you mention the author. P.S. I don't understand users who post their logos and graphics with watermarks and don't want to share sources. For example, a user from Turkey infratau has made several high-quality logos of different versions of the game with watermarks. However, he stubbornly ignores my request to publish at least PNG without watermarks, not to mention the PSD. Moreover, 4 people disliked my request post. These so called heroes are Amillionaire, GSK and 2 others. I wonder why dislike? It was a normal request. And also, why would artists like infratau post their work at all? Just to brag and tease the others? Or to read flattering comments like "Great work!" and "Amazing"? You know what they say: if you want to do something good, do it yourself. P.P.S. I don't mean to offend anyone. I'm just sharing personal experience based on facts on this forum.

Don't even go there, let me tell you a few things.
Firstly, we all want to show off our creativity, like you. If we do get praise, well that's an added bonus for it. Secondly, people dislike seeing users making requests openly, who haven't been in the forum for a while or hardly made any contributions (and a little something, we are not obliged to give out or cater anything or respond to any requests) Finally, we watermark our work because we've had it to see people using our work without giving us credit.
Plus, in your words "so called heroes", are heroes in this forum because they are making more contributions and helping out the forum. That's something you hardly done. So don't give us that attitude

Every artist is free to do whatever the hell they want with their work. If they don't want to hand it out freely, they don't want to hand it out freely. If they're going to watermark it, they're going to watermark it. No one is under any obligation to share anything with anyone. Being cocky and calling them "greedy" or quoting "generous" will win you no friends here and reeks of pettiness and entitlement.
That said, thank you for your contribution. I'm sure lots of people will find good use for it. I just hope you don't mind when inevitably, someone pops up with this graphic and claims this as their own/takes credit for it, because this has happened countless times before and is a large reason for why people tend to watermark their graphics these days.
I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it much if someone took your open source project, then proceeded to tout it as their own everywhere they go, going so far as to actively remove mentions of your authorship, or, worse, replacing them with their own name.

I also like to point out that not only have you displayed this sort of disrespect and lack of understanding in this forum, but also on another forum, which I will not name to avoid confrontations. However, the content of the post on another forum is nearly identical the post on this forum
On another forum, you posted the following:
P.S. I do not understand regisfan users. There, the artists spread their logos and graphics from the game, but with watermarks and do not share source codes. For example, a user from Turkey infratau made several high-quality logos of different versions of the game with watermarks, but stubbornly ignores my request to share at least PNG without watermarks, not to mention the PSD. Moreover, 4 people put a dislike on my message of request. I wonder, then why lay out my work? To brag and tease others? The truth is said: if you want to do something good, do it yourself. I hope this forum will remain a place of sharing free creativity and will not turn into a show-off.

Dear Mr. wwtbamfangamer! I didn't mean to offend you or any other artists (I assume you are an artist). I just shared my opinion about the sad situation I found here. Of course the skills of the artists are very necessary. However, I don't fully understand the attitude towards the other users.
I'm not showing off. I'm just sharing something that might be useful for other WWTBAM fans. I don't need fame or praiseful comments. This is one of the key differences observed between programmers and artists. Programmers are very generous and willingly share their work with others. If you are familiar with the GitHub website, you will see thousands of free and open source projects created by programmers. If you go to StackOverflow, you will see thousands of programmers who will answer your any question free of charge! Therefore, as a programmer, I'm shocked with the cold attitude on this forum.
Interesting. I thought this forum was for people who have requests. If a person who does not know Photoshop or other graphic software needs a custom WWTBAM logo or avatar and wants to ask people who can do it, this person also needs to have contributions? What kind? How? If the person cannot draw! Just like I could not. But instead of receiving any help on this forum, I had to learn to draw myself.
I agree that artists are not obliged to do it but it would be polite at least to say: "Sorry, I have no time or cannot fulfill your request. Or you cannot use my work in your projects." That would be totally enough! But ignoring feels really impolite. Programmers at StackOverflow are also not obliged to answer questions, but they generously do. When I ask something, at least several different people try to help me. They don't get money for this. Even I sometimes wonder why they do it. This is something worth respect.
If you are afraid that your work might be stolen and don't want to share it then why publish it at all?
If you refer to the users Amillionaire, GSK and 2 others who disliked my request then I did not receive any help or contribution from them. Instead of rudely disliking my post they could just PM me explaining how to make a correct request (if it was incorrect). BTW, my request to Mr. infratau was a polite question if I can use his logos. Are there any written rules claiming that polite questions are subjects for dislikes? I called them "heroes" because it's very easy to put a dislike but not so easy to help a new user.
As I mentioned above, how could I make any contributions if I couldn't draw when I first came here?
Exactly. This proves my point. If you have no intention to share your work then why publish a watermark teaser? What's the purpose? Banal brag?
Okay, and how would you call teasing other people? This is something programmers don't do. If software is proprietary you can buy it. If it's open source then you can just download it. But we don't say: "I wrote a super cool program but I'm not sharing it with anyone, ha ha ha!" (a little exaggerated but you get the point).
My purpose of registering here was to ask for help, not to make friends. For that matter you have social networks.
I understand that. However, there are other forums where people kindly publish their work and everyone is happy. I also understand that someone might take credit for my work. So be it. Fame is not important. Instead, I think that my work may help some WWTBAM fans who cannot draw (like I couldn't) and save lots of time. I want to give people help which I did not receive here (this is not an offense, this is a fact). Also, personally I didn't want to steal Mr. infratau's logos. I just wanted his written permission to use them (of course he would be credited).
If they make my project better then I only support it! If I didn't want to share I wouldn't make my project open source.
I'm very glad you mentioned my post on another forum and even translated it into English because I was lazy to translate it myself. That forum is totally different from this one because everyone publishes his work freely, without any watermarks. No brag at all. If you ask, you will be helped, or at least heard. There are dozens of requests on that forum and it's normal, there are no dislikes. I was really shocked to find that my humble request was ignored here and obtained 4 rude dislikes for nothing. Would you consider such behavior of current forum users as a warm welcome?

The problem with us though, is that when we share and post our artwork and allow people to use it, we get no credit when used. And that's a situation we have here for a long time now.
This forum isn't really for requests for those who are new to this forum. And sometimes we do get people who ask a lot don't give us credit, and that we don't see people trustworthy enough.
And when I mean by contributions, as in actively participate in discussions that could add something useful and personal. It's not always about graphics
The point of watermarking our work is to protect our work and then sharing it and seeking feedback to improve or do get praise for it without the risk of artwork being stolen.
I standby my point regarding the heroes of the forum and in particular GSK because he had many requests regarding his work but then not credited when used by other people (in and out of forum) and has been part of this forum for years and had to deal with situations like this before along with other admins
Now, unfortunately, there are times where we don't get replies from other people, but we have to just move on.
Finally, this forum is different to the other forum you are from. We have a thing about building trust from people, and you can't expect to get trust straight away. Asking for graphics and logos isn't the best start here. I'd suggest introducing yourself and then be part of the forum by take part in discussions and show more of your creativity

I think the saddest part about this is the irony. Whether you meant to or not, you're being really quite rude, even though that's what you're flaming respected members for apparently doing. Starting off a post by calling the creators here greedy and then naming and flaming users who you feel have wronged you is very, very rude. I would imagine that the reason your post in the other thread got four dislikes (oh the horror) was more the fact that you bumped a dead thread, something which is actually frowned upon. That's why I disliked it anyway - you broke a rule, so you should have expected a little bit of a negative reaction. That's probably why you also didn't get a response. I know you didn't get told off for this at the time, but it was a rule break nonetheless. Maybe you misunderstood the site, but it isn't really a 'request forum'. Whilst the Creativity board can be, and is, used by members to show off their work, it isn't somewhere for people to show us something they've made and then someone else to say 'I want that, give it to me' or 'can you make (insert request here) for me'. If the creator doesn't want their work to be completely open to the public, in case of someone passing it off as their own, that's fine, and is commonplace here. Maybe that's different on other sites, but it isn't here. Also, someone who doesn't want to share their works with no protection against them being stolen is not teasing other people. You should probably get that idea out of your head now, because that is really quite rude to those creators, as well as false. I honestly don't understand why you feel so offended because nobody replied to you. Although you claimed you were asking for help, the only posts I can see you asked for permission to use things, which is obviously a good thing, but not when you bump a dead thread to do so. Nowhere that I can see have you asked for any help, per say. Seeing as you've kind of said that English isn't your first language, maybe this is just a translating error. There are other ways to contribute here than creating. Not everybody can draw, but you could get involved with discussions here if you want to be seen as a contributor. Maybe I misunderstand what you really want here, but I would like to make clear that we are not obligated to do anything for you, and you are not entitled to anything from us. Two thing I think you should definitely take away from this is that: 1) flaming members for the pettiest of reasons is never a good way to go as a new member, especially if you intend in making it into Fan Games, and 2) the worst way to say people have supposedly been rude to you is to actually be rude about them. (I don't think this is backseat moderating, but if it is, I apologise. Also, wwtbamfangamer , I has half of this typed on computer but then had to come back to it after you'd posted, so sorry if it appears I've copied anything you've said ) Now, finally, on to your logo: it does look good, so well done. The only thing I would say is that the question marks should be on top of the oval thingies. Apart from that, well done.

Dear Mr. wwtbamfangamer!
Thank you for your answer.
Now that's a good detailed explanation of how things work at this forum. Too bad I wasn't fully aware of that when I came here. I'm sure other new users also aren't. I think it should be better to make a greeting page for new users explaining these things - about ways to gain reputation in order to make requests. But this raises a new question. What if a new user needs a very quick help from artists and has no time to gain reputation? I think it's a matter of a good discussion in a separate topic. And these things should be explained in forum rules.
Yes, but we don't get 4 dislikes at the same time without any explanation.
I understand your point. Indeed, it's not nice when someone steals your work. But I don't think you should take it so closely to your heart. I don't think this loss will cost you millions of dollars. You don't always receive gratefulness. It's normal. What goes around, comes back around (it's about those who steal). Also, it doesn't mean that all people steal. I came to this forum with purely good intentions to have a credited cooperation with skillful artists. And I really liked Mr. infratau's artworks. What I didn't like is no response from him at all (within a whole year!).
As for me, I have some own software codes that are valuable to me. In that case I don't mention that it exists at all and keep it safely on my computer, without teasing other people. But when I feel like sharing then I publish it for free hoping that it would help someone, just like some other programmers' codes helped me (again, what goes around, comes back around).
If you are concerned about the copyrights, you can publish your artwork on special websites like DevianArt. I'm sure you can prove your ownership there when required, based on your name and publishing date (I don't use that website, it's only an assumption).
I think sometimes you should trust people. They are not all bad.
Your point is good. And I agree that you are right. I'm sorry if I sounded offensive or cocky (as Mr. ThePaSch said). Again, I really enjoy the skills of artists here. They do some pretty good work.
However, I am more of a sharing person. I'd like my work to help the others. What's the point if my efforts just fall into dust on my hard drive?
But maybe that's because I was raised on websites with open source projects and got used to the very friendly programmer society where everyone is trying to help everyone. So watermarks are really weird for me.
As for people who put dislikes, I would like them to come straight with some constructive criticism. Instead of pressing a like/dislike button (we are not on X Factor) they should rather express specific reasons which could improve my posts/works. I am always open to discussions and other people's opinions. This would bring me and other new users more benefit than just reading a rude notice "Amillionaire, GSK, and 2 others dislike this" and wondering why the heck?

Dear Mr. millionaireloveruk!
Thank you for your answer. It was much more informative than just pressing a dislike button.
I understand. If you think I insulted those people then I sincerely apologize. I didn't say they are bad, I only wanted them to pay attention to some things that seemed impolite to me. There is no limit to perfection. At the same time, I understand that I could have sounded rude as well. I will take this into account for the future.
Usually I am a discreet person. That post wasn't meant to harm in no way. It was just a frustration blast that nobody tried to support a new user on this forum.
If that's the case, I have never seen a forum before in my life where you get dislikes just for posting in a dead thread. It would be easier to just lock that thread.
I understand. Could you please specify what rule I broke?
I really come from different websites. Sorry if I don't understand it here.
I respect your opinion but still don't understand this. Generally speaking, WWTBAM logo belongs to Celador and other companies. So I find it illogical to show off with watermarks claiming that logo belongs to artists.
If you look at that topic you'll see that there have been 5 new posts after mine. Also, if it was dead, why would other users read it and put dislikes?
It was not an error. I only needed Mr. infratau's logos without watermarks. It was urgent at that time. That was all the help I needed. I didn't ask much, e.g., to create a painting from scratch.
OK but don't you think it would be a good tone at least to answer "No" if the artist doesn't want to share his work? Or just leave a short notice in the first post of the thread that these works will not be published, don't ask.
I described earlier that I came here a year ago with only a particular purpose - to ask for logos. I really needed them at that time.
I understand, I didn't mean to sound rude. I was irritated by the attitude. Imagine you are a new user in some community. You politely ask someone for something and receive ignorance and dislikes instead - as if you were a martian or something. Would it be pleasant for you? What first impression would you have about that community?
Thank you for your comment. This is my first work in this area. Question marks are on separate layers so I will just lift those layers above the ovals.
To summarize, I liked that we had a meaningful discussion and explained each other's opinions. This is more fruitful than just pressing dislikes.
P.S. Although now, looking back, I smile because that situation made me study drawing myself.

I updated the logo and the PSD file. As noted Mr. millionaireloveruk, question marks are now on top of the ovals.

The outcome here was inevitable, but I wanted to pop into this thread to thank everyone who responded to this user’s spiteful messages not with anger, but with logic, reason, and restraint. That is what this community is all about, despite what ua2004 would have you believe.
