I also share mark's sentiments about the audacity of trying to replace his work. The banner's mark makes are of great quality, and to even think of wanting to step on his toes and do something he spends hard work and countless hours of working on is plain dumb. A small bit of advice for you, since you are new to this forum. Think before you post, because by just posting what you did there. It's already slightly not gonna look good for you if you ever try to apply for the fan games section. Try to post constructively next time. |

Why is everyone trying to act like "the cool kids in class" would? OP created a banner, is clearly a fan of the show, and thought that maybe they could contribute to this website by sharing their work. It may not be of professional caliber, but I don't see how that was ever any requirement in the Creative section. I don't understand why everyone needs to be snippy and sarcastic with them and bash their work even after an apology. At least thorklein offered a little context to the reaction, but I still find it a bit harsh to call them "dumb" for suggesting that something they made might be used for the forum. I'm just not seeing anything constructive here, is what I'm saying. Or is anyone genuinely going to suggest that this thread was, in some way, intended as a personal attack to the original creator of the board graphics?
We tell everyone who's new how making a great first impression to the community on this site is important, but in this example, as the hypothetical new user, my first impression of the community would be severely soured. I really don't know what all this snark is supposed to accomplish here.

ThePaSch, this thread really needed to be read in context. In general, I agree with you about offering up constructive feedback in lieu of snark. This particular user caused a bit of a ruckus on the boards at the time this thread was posted, and this thread fell victim to that. Anyway, there's really nothing left to see here. I'm locking this thread to prevent a past incident from causing trouble once more.
