So I'm bored and watching Major Fraud and the full Ingram episodes... Had a random question about contestant selection.
I don't know how it worked in the US but in the UK, how was it that the contestants in the ring of fire persisted from episode to episode?
Were contestants chosen for a set number of episodes or were they chosen for the "season"/session?

To start with you got one show but I don't think there was ever a rule in place that said you couldn't apply to the show more than once. I think eventually they would let people come back until they got in the Hot Seat, or the end of the series, but I may be wrong in thinking this.

In the US, and a few of the rules docs I looked up (was going to make something about that), the rule was if you made it to the Hotseat chair and played with Regis or Meredith, or if you made it to the stage in general with Terry, Cedric, Chris... you're done. That's your one chance. But I was generally curious about how and when certain players got a chance to roll over and continue on multiple shows. Like take Charles Ingram/Whittock for example. Ingram started his episode and got to question four. Klaxon rang off and the show ended, but everyone in that ring of fire came back next show.

I know that you only ever got one chance in the Hot Seat in the UK, but if you never made it past the Fastest Finger stage, you could come back or re-apply I think. I remember someone getting to the chair and Chris saying that it was his second time there as the first time he'd gotten too nervous, so didn't play.
